From Magic DVD Software :Magic DVD Ripper is DVD backup software. It can copy your DVD to hard drive with 4 optional modes (disc fully, main movie, split DVD-9 into DVD-5, and files). It can also convert DVD to VCD, SVCD and AVI (DivX) formats. It provides ripping speed and output quality. And it can automatically detect DVD-ROM and select appropriate settings for beginner, so you can get started with just one click. Version 3.2 includes pause button, improves audio and video sync. Some minor fixes and improvements.

Version: Magic DVD Ripper (Basic Edition) 3.2
Pros: I tried quite a few of the rippers that were availabe at the time. This program surpassed most of its competitors based upon ease, features, and performance. Of all the available rippers, I decided to purchased a liscense for this one. It was the performance and overall speed that convinved me. Tbe user interface is fairly simple and the features for adjusting output quailty for file conversions are good. And with Win XP, and did not experienced any difficulty with the program's compatibility. Without a doubt, I recommend this program.
Cons: On a few occassions, while already open, the program failed to recognize that I had inserted a disc for ripping. This was corrected by closing and restarting the program.

Version: Magic DVD Ripper (Basic Edition) 3.2
Pros: I have been using Magic Dvd Ripper lately just to see how it worked on ripping some Dvd's I have. So far it seems to perform flawlessly on most movies and such I have used it on. It takes approx. the same time to rip the movie as it would to view it. In some cases it was actually faster. (Depending on format converting it to) It supports DvD to Vcd/Svcd/Divx/Xvid support also. I have tried tons of simple one click rippers so I wont have to go through all the crap these other guys do and by far this has been the simplest program I have used so far. Not only is it simple, it also has more complex settings for the power users if wanted. Image quality is great on Divx/Xvid and audio equally as good. I would reccomend it to anyone just starting out or even a seasoned veteran...

Pros: Fairly quick, reliable, simple, high quality rips.
Cons: You could always use more features. A preview feature would be nice so you could see the progress of the movie as its being ripped. The GUI is fairly weak.
