"import filters need help, poor customer service"

    August 1, 2011  |   By mpickard9

Version: Mac Password Manager Ascendo DataVault 4.4.18

    Pros

Looks like this could be a very powerful password manager at a reasonable price.

    Cons

CSV import filter needs help - Windows version is very useful, but if trying to import on a MAC, its very limited
Customer service is slow to respond to email inquiries.

    Summary

I've purchased their iPhone version of this, and demo'd both the Windows and Mac versions - was able to easily import CSV data from the Windows platform and sync with my iPhone, but have yet to successfully import 350-400 records from the Mac platform (where most of my data is - coming from Web Confidential). Doesn't seem to have ability to easily associate imported records with templates - currently have to edit each imported record to associate with a data template and also to mask any fields that you want masked.

    Pros

Complete flexibility as to creating your own schema
Great ability to copy a field to clipboard
    Has templates for data entry

    Cons

Lack of dynamic expansion of Template fields

    Summary

I would have bought this if the number of fields in the Template were not fixted (at 10).

"A good security solution for iPhone/Mac users"

    December 11, 2010  |   By bhawbaker

Version: Mac Password Manager Ascendo DataVault 4.3.7

    Pros

    1) Common GUI between phone and computer
    2) User-Defined Categories and Subcategories
    3) Good system of templates, user defined
    4) Data records don't require that you stick to a template. You can vary fields for any record within any subcategory

    Cons

Moving between iphone apps to find a password or acct # is a pain. A "copy" button for a highligted field would be useful. Syncing (wireless) could be easier - a lot of steps.

    Summary

Easy to find information, and keep it synced between phone and computer. A good way to keep data secure and mobile. Have been using Datavault for about 6 months, and am very comfortable with it.

"DataVault is an excellent program from a great company"

    July 17, 2010  |   By igwr

Version: Mac Password Manager Ascendo DataVault 4.3.2

    Pros

The program is easy to use.. The Graphics are nice and simple. Syncing with my I PAD and I Phone was easy. I formerly used this program with my PC and Blackberry- a great way of storing secure personal data. It is equally great with Mac products!

    Cons

    None that comes to mind

    Summary

This is an extremely useful program for storing personal information in a secure way. The ability to use wireless to sync with other devices such as I Phone--I Pad-and Blackberry allows the user to always have important personal information available. How many times do we forget and need passwords, account numbers as well as other important personal data. This program allows me to always have this information available. My wife is a business person and formerly used another program. After observing me use this program as well as other great programs from Ascendo she also has become a user !

In summary: I recommend this program highly.
