MSKeyViewer Plus retrieves full product-key information for numerous licensed applications, and it does it with style.
The freeware program's GUI is simple but elegant, with clearly labeled buttons that leave you with no question about using it. Granted, there's very little to do--open the program and all your licensed programs are shown in one of the two tabs. Programs are listed in a tree format, and it's easy to drill down to the details. The other tab shows nonlicensed programs like the free Adobe Acrobat reader. You can selectively copy information to the clipboard with ease.
MSKeyViewer Plus supports Microsoft Windows, Office, and other Microsoft products, in addition to other licensed programs like CA eTrust Anti-Virus and Norton Anti-Virus. You won't be able to change product-key information with this freeware, but MSKeyViewer Plus earns top marks for its clean design and effortless functionality.

From Todd Sherrer :MSKeyViewer Plus is a small utility to retrieve Microsoft product installation keys and service pack levels and display them in a list to be kept in case of key loss and/or the need to reinstall software. Most versions of Microsoft Windows, Office, Exchange Server, SQL Server, and other miscellaneous Microsoft programs are supported.Also, several other programs are supported such as Norton Anti-Virus (2004 and above), Registry Mechanic, Macromedia Contribute, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and FreeHand, Fresh Diagnose, Download, UI, and View, QuickTime Pro, WinASO Registry Optimizer, Ad-Aware 2007, COMODO Firewall, POP Peeper, Apple Safari.
Adds support for Office 2003 SP3 and SQL Server 2005 SP2 and fixes .Net Framework 3 detection. Version 2.0.5 includes unspecified updates.

"Good at picking up MS product keys"
Pros: I have a number of PCs an keep the MS sticker elsewhere. I sometimes get mixed up which key is for which PC - e.g. mobo upgrades which often go through reregistering. This tells me which key is for that PC.
Cons: None from my point of view

"It finds license keys (some but not all)"
Pros: Fast and easy to use
Cons: I have quite a few licensed programs in this system and, according to the software, I have 4. What I truely needed it for, Nikon Capture NX2, doesn't even show on the lise although it is legal, registerd.
Summary: OK but not the end-all.

"Does exactly what it says on the tin."
Pros: Easy to use, useful information comes out in a format that is easy to understand. I also like the fact that, having retrieved the information you're looking for, you can copy and paste it; simple enough to do but not everyone would have bothered.
Cons: What's not to like?
