MSKeyViewer Plus retrieves full product-key information for numerous licensed applications, and it does it with style.
The freeware program's GUI is simple but elegant, with clearly labeled buttons that leave you with no question about using it. Granted, there's very little to do--open the program and all your licensed programs are shown in one of the two tabs. Programs are listed in a tree format, and it's easy to drill down to the details. The other tab shows nonlicensed programs like the free Adobe Acrobat reader. You can selectively copy information to the clipboard with ease.
MSKeyViewer Plus supports Microsoft Windows, Office, and other Microsoft products, in addition to other licensed programs like CA eTrust Anti-Virus and Norton Anti-Virus. You won't be able to change product-key information with this freeware, but MSKeyViewer Plus earns top marks for its clean design and effortless functionality.

From Todd Sherrer :MSKeyViewer Plus is a small utility to retrieve Microsoft product installation keys and service pack levels and display them in a list to be kept in case of key loss and/or the need to reinstall software. Most versions of Microsoft Windows, Office, Exchange Server, SQL Server, and other miscellaneous Microsoft programs are supported.
Also, several other programs are supported such as Norton Anti-Virus (2004 and above), and Registry Mechanic. Version 1.5.5 adds updates detection of Microsoft Office and SQL Server products, and Norton Anti-Virus, adds version support for AVG Anti-Spyware, Spyware Terminator, PGP 9.x, .NET Framework, MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger, adds Danish language support.

Pros: This software works, as advertised. I have it as a free insurance policy.
Cons: Like all other insurance policies, I never want to have any of them have to pay off!

"Does exactly what it says on the tin."
Pros: It does exactly what it claims to do - gives you a list of keys from installed products, simply and cleanly. This is great for me, since I tend to have to hunt around every few months or these when my Windows system crashes and I need to re-install. Now all I need to do is go to one of my other PCs and most of the important information that I need is there.
I note that it also gives you useful details of a number of other, unlicenced programs such as the Flash Player, Media Player, Java RTL etc. I was somewhat surprised to see Ad-Aware SE Personal included in these - I've never knowingly installed this product and am curious to know which other program has it embedded within itself...
Cons: It's a pity it can't do things like Acrobat, Macromedia products and one or two other things that I have - but all the same, it's very useful and as it's free, no-one should grumble, least of all me.
One thing that might improve the look and feel of it for me is the user interface. Very few programs take into consideration the resolution of a screen and therefore cram too much information into too small a space, that on my PCs seems silly. I've got lots of room on my screen and the window that opens doesn't take full advantage of it. This is, I have to say, handled fairly well with a tree structured appproach but could be improved a little with a bit more effort. However, as I've already said, it's free, it works, it's useful and it's easy to use.

"It is simple and works perfectly"
Pros: You don't install this program, you just fire it up and it does its thing... can't get much simpler than that. And it did it's job perfectly. The results on my home computer were no surprise, but I was amazed to find two versions of XP Pro on my computer at work as a result of the IT dept. installing their standard version on all the computers they buy. But the OEM key was still in there. It also shows the keys for things like Acrobat, Ad-Aware, Internet Explorer, Win Media Player, etc.
Cons: You can't overwrite the fields. Does anybody know if the key is encrypted or where it is stored? I searched in the registry and did not find it. Please write to skiing2525 at hotmail dot com. Thanks!
