"Program was looking for system access permissions ?!?"
Version: MP3Resizer 1.9.6
Pros
Looks like it received a lot of good reviews and it looks like exactly what I was looking for.
Cons
It was looking for system access permissions that don't reflect the scope of what the program says it's supposed to do. That sets off alarm bells in the anti-virus software as soon as you try to run the installed program (if it didn't, I'd need to find new anti-virus protection).
Summary
The attempt to access system components was too suspicious. I uninstalled immediately before actually allowing it to run and have the permissions it was requesting. Think *very* carefully before running.

"Great little software, easy to understand, but costly!!"
Version: MP3Resizer 1.9.2
Pros
Simple interface lets you get converting quickly, its small and neat, doesnt take up loads of ram. a great choice!
Cons
firstly its wayyyy to expensive, and secondly half of the music i add at 320kbps it says it will increase the filesize when i convert it to 192kbps!!?? the software needs a major patch for that!
Summary
So all in all, get the free trial, use it as much as you can on the music that works, then delete it!

"Handy little program!"
Version: MP3Resizer 1.5
Pros
I came across this program by accident and boy, was I pleased I did so! Handy if you have a mobile phone that plays mp3s. This program will squash the original size of an mp3 file without compromising on quality (not that I've noticed when listening to the tracks). Not sure to what ratio though. But it does mean that I can have more music on my phone without having to get a bigger memory card. Also works on files for mp3 players so I have been told by others. When a file has been 'compressed', it'll show as something like this on your pc.. songname.mp3.lite
Just think, more songs on one cd too!
