"Seems to work perfectly on win7"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
Works really great on win7
Cons
The interface is not the most logical one.

"Does it well!"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
I converted a ton of songs on a hard drive I listen to at work, and it really works well! Open source freeware really is the way to go. I only tested it on MP3 files, as it is the only type of music file I have.
Cons
A little slow on large volumes of files, had to set it up and go to bed, running on my dual core AMD. Also, not all people have just mp3 files.
Summary
I will recommend this product to anyone who is looking for this type of software! I am unconcerned if it doesn't work on DRM. Thanks, MP3Gain!

"MP3Gain is not at all that bad"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
Ease of use
Cons
Some of it is not set out good
Summary
Just takes a bit of getting use too I guess

"Best I can think of..."
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
Does exactly what it it is supposed to do. No major complications or complex learning curve. Plus it doesn't re-write the actual file.
Cons
Can be very slow on single processor machines. Not sure if they have added multi-processor support to help speed up the process, or if they have tackled a 64 bit version as well.
Summary
No sense in spending a fortune on software packages that this program will basically do. I wouldn't trust it for master mix downs of say a major motion picture sound track, but if your tired of ACDC coming out like a mouse fart and Enya blowing the nuts off a marble statue, this is a great way to get your audio tracks singing in harmony.

"Free, Easy, Effective....what more could you want?"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
Works like a charm. If you have an iPod, also get the free AACGain 'upgrade'. I had over 5000 songs with different levels; the thought of manually normalizing them made me ill. MP3Gain/AACGain did them all in a day, 100% automatically.
Cons
None. Repeat, none. (Sorry for the repetition; Cnet demands at least 10 characters, and 'none' has only 4.)
Summary
If you've got more than a handful of mp3 or aac files that haven't been normalized together, get this app!

"Boost your mp3-volume, but with perfect soundquality"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
A great program that helps you to overcome the sound-limiter of the Ipod.
Cons
There are no cons, it works perfectly.
Summary
Mp3gain boosts the volume of all your mp3's in a few minutes.
Your entire collection is a lot 'louder', but the quality is still okay.
No clipping when I boosted everything to 96 db. -
"Awesome tool for DJ's"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
This program is awesome at levelling off the sond of mp3's purchased through Beatport. I can play all of these at the same gain on the club mixer which makes things sound so much better. No loss of quality, easy to use
Cons
None-didlley-unnn
Summary
If you are a DJ using mp3 downloaded from legit websites (pay for your DL's people) this is gold. I've played thousands of tracks on huge club system, everyone having gone through mp3gain. Love it!!

"Ineffectual rubbish!"
Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
Not a lot. Allows click and drag of files.
Cons
It doesn't really do anything. It's a complete waste of time.
Help files are very basic. Anything outside of target default value produces an error.Summary
I tried loading a low-volume mp3 file into this and the analyzer said it was at 89db. I tried loading a loud file, and the analyzer said it was at 89db ! I then processed it for 'normalization' and nothing changed. I then adjusted the target level for 90db and it reported an error, then 90.5 db, and various ones lower and it kept reporting an error. The error log gives no reason for this, other than 'Can't modify'. Useless!
If the target is ever set outside of the default 89db level it just fails and reports an error. It does nothing.
My system: WinXP Pro (SP3), Pentium 2.1ghz. -

Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5
Pros
It levelled the volume on over 1000 tunes with no problems
Cons
I Couldn't figure out how to use the GUI to select an entire directory structure. Had to use the command line.
Summary
Works as advertised, give it six stars if I could.
