    "great little program!"

    April 23, 2007  |   By strongtek

    Version: MP3DirectCut 2.02

    Pros

Does just what is supposed to do. Small download (little more than a floppy) and NO changes to Windows registry. And it edits mp3s just like I wanted, even allows a fade at the end.

    Cons

    none

"Easy to use,Small,Free,No quality loss and very fast!!"

    October 22, 2006  |   By bassy2

    Version: MP3DirectCut 2.02

    Pros

I love small programme's that do the trick and nothing more. And this programme does the trick!

Its very fast, allmost no uploading time becourse it only cuts the mp2 ore mp3 files and does not add unwanted filters.

Automatick silent detection and a visual time interface are very usefull and easy to learn.

I'm not a computerfreak and I instantly learnt myself to do the trick, so its very easy to use.

I record from fear.fm live streaming radio

with soundcapture1.0 and the recorded file is cutted to the size of 80minute's to fit on a audio disc.

Sometime's i'll need these cd's to blast for 100 people so the quality must be right! And it is!

Seach no more, this is wat you want!!

    Cons

-It can use a (inter)facelift but I don't see this as a con.

-Very difficult to find such a programme, but youre here now! ;)

-The programme would not download from this site, so i googled to the official site and downloaded it there. Sorry about that!

The revieuws were very usefull and here is another for the collection.

    Pardon my french I'm dutch!!

"It's free and does the job"

    July 13, 2006  |   By davidlucantonio

    Version: MP3DirectCut 2.02

    Pros

    - It's for free

    - Does the job of splitting mp3's

    - Visual view of mp3 file to split

    Cons

    - Not extremely great user-interface I don't think

    - May be a little hard to use at first (may be difficult for beginners to know what to do at first) but through some playing around...it becomes a breeze to use

    - Doesn't support other audio formats other than mp3's.

    Pros

This program splits and joins mp3 files without reencoding which means there is no quality loss. It is easy to use, doesn't use excessive memory, is fast and it is free.

    Cons

Not fancy to look at but I don't care. It works very well.

"Best free program I've found for MP3 splitting (and other stuff)"

    May 19, 2006  |   By jray14

    Version: MP3DirectCut 2.02

    Pros

This is an awesome and efficient tool that excels in splitting MP3 files, adjusting volume, fading and normalizing, cut/copy/paste of sections, and recording. And it's all lightning-fast since decompressing and re-encoding is not necessary for these operations: the original format is preserved.

-- Fast (practically instantaneous) loading of MP3 files.

-- Automatic naming of resulting files based on filename, CUE or ID3 tag information (which is customizable within the program).

-- Editing directly on the waveform display (enabling you to choose split points at a glance).

-- Visual markers of all your split/cut points directly on the waveform.

-- Checking of edits quickly with the built-in player.

-- Automatic and customizable pause detection.

    -- Gain (amplitude/volume) adjustment.

    Cons

-- Cannot change or undo split/cut points directly (must save to CUE sheet, edit CUE sheet in a text editor, and re-load)

-- No zoom control for the waveform (but the navigation features are customizable).

    "Excellent mp3 editing tool"

    July 16, 2005  |   By gilshwartz

    Version: MP3DirectCut 2.01

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using previous versions of mp3directcut over the years and this is a great tool to cut long silence sections at the begining and end of a track, load cue sheet and slice a single 60 min. mp3 to its individual tracks and more. Easy interface and fast results. Most recommended.
