"Looks like a clone to me!"

    June 22, 2007  |   By UM Canes

The app is "Vista" ready and searching for a P2P app for my new comp, I decided to try the "Rocket". Although a couple other reviewers claimed it to be a "Limewire" clone, I proceeded. The app installed with ease and I immediately opened the app after install to find it did appear to be what the others claimed. A "Limewire" clone. I did a couple searches and what I found was a much smaller data base of music files available for download. One example is, I did an "oldie's" search. "Limewire Pro" lists a couple hundred files within 30 seconds or so. The rocket never reached close to that number. With a 6.0 DSL modem, unlike the other claims of super fast downloads, the downloads were slower. Because of these findings I can't recommend this app over "Limewire". In comparison, it didn't cut the mustard for me. "Limewire Pro" works fine with "Vista" although it makes a minor change to the color settings. My recommendation: Stick with "Limewire".

Looks like "Limewire", but without the performance. Didn't cut it for me. Slower downloads and a smaller network make it a decent second option to "Limewire" but thats it.

looks like I just had a corrupt installer. After ww2 told me about the app and how it works for him I re-downloaded a fresh copy from the home page of "MP3 Rocket". It went in like a charm and works great. It still looks and works like "Limewire", but it is better on a "Vista" machine. LOL!

I think you should have another go at it UM. I know you had a bad HDD and I've known you way to long to think, if its's good for me, it might not be for you. I installed it and it is fine. I think you had a corrupt "Vista OS" install on a bad HDD. Let me know, OK?
