If you're not use to DOS, MBRtool can be a little confusing...
Summary
For people who work on their "family" computers, MBRtool is a life saver. I had one of my older children try to install Ubuntu, messed it up, formatted the hard drive, and then try use restore CD's to bring system back, with no luck.
I noticed restore CD's was loading into partition3, (should have been partition1), which alerted me that the MBR must be corrupted.
Used wipe in the MBRtool and was able to restore the computer back to factory settings. Computer working perfect, at least until the next time the boy decides to try something else !!!
