"Worst software that I have seen!!!"
Version: Lotus Notes 8.5.3
Pros
No one even!
Cons
Bad for any purpose. Slow and with several bugs. To speak only two negative aspects of a long list, you can not do a decent search and has the worst web application I've ever seen.

"Excellent Upgrade, Much smoother operation!"
Version: Lotus Notes 8.5.2
Pros
I've been working with Notes v8.5.2 hours daily, for months now, on windows 7, with only rare issues. Much improved over previous versions.
Smooth operations, none of the problems noted by prior reviewer.Cons
Rare lockup, requires restarting Notes. Problem seems to involve
integration with web browser, which occasional causes this issue, sometimes resolvable by closing browser window.Summary
Much improved product. Like it much better than MS Outlook.

"An utter disgrace of a product"
Version: Lotus Notes 8.5.2
Pros
You're going to force me to enter 10 characters of "pros" about Lotus Notes? Clearly, you've never used Lotus Notes.
Cons
Wow. What a shabby, shabby product.
- First startup, and I have to magically find a names.nsf file. I can make one, with Notes, but that's not much good if Notes won't open. Massive fail. (I'm connecting to a server - can't you serve me one?)
- Labyrinthine configuration options.
- Archiving just seems to, er, not work.
- I see a spinning black & white ball more often than not.Summary
That a company can legitimately release a product this poor in 2011 is a disgrace.
By far and away the worst email client I have ever been forced to use. Because, sadly, that's how it is. I'm using this because I absolutely must. I really, really wish I didn't have to. -

"8.5 crashes during startup"
Version: Lotus Notes 8.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using 8.5Beta1 for a few days and upgraded to the release today - Notes now crashes during the startup
The RC1 was working ok but pretty slow so I was hoping for a better performance, no luck though. -
"Best Notes ever"
Version: Lotus Notes 8.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This version is the best IBM ever brought out. BUT: Don't intstall the stdandard version. The underlaying Eclipse system still is very very very slow.
My Tipp: install the basic version. It's much faster and runs on PPC-Mac, too, and, of cource, if your sys admin allows it, use the 8.5 template together with the Domino server 8.5:-)
