"it is old, like me, but like me it still keeps ticking over... 4 now ;)"

    May 15, 2008  |   By When-Im-64

Version: Logitech WingMan Software (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP) 4.2

    Pros

I had to calibrate it, but it worked perfect, detected my joy stick Wingman Force 3d, and I now have force feed back... which XP sp2 seems to have killed... use it to fly FS9 and CFS 1, 2, & 3... and no doubt if I get FS X, AND a dual core machine, I'll use it then as well... like I said, it is old, but it works well... don't know what all the grumbling is about... driver worked like a charm... ta-tah-4-now... oh, and I won't be upgrading to Vista... if I do upgrade it will be to Apple OS-X, with XP as a secondary for playing games...

    Pros

It has the correct shape and feel for a joystick,& the

    actions are alright.

    Cons

The throttle control is all wrong. There should be a thumb

wheel on the left side of the hand grip.(similar to the mouse wheel.)

"Works well, easy to install and use"

    August 23, 2007  |   By djlassmann

Version: Logitech WingMan Software (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP) 4.2

    Pros

This program installs quickly and easily. It autodetects any connected logitech gaming devices and correctly identifies the exact models. Calibration of devices is equally quick and easy. I am using an old Wingman Extreme 3D joystick and a new Dual Action game controller in Microsoft's Flight Simulator. Both devices work fine, although the joystick has a handle twist problem. (the joystick, not the software)

    Cons

However, I did find it necessary to change and adjust button and axis assignments using the simulator's controller settings.

    Pros

CNet in the past was great.

After signing up for their online membership so I can have spam sent to me, the downloads don't work and my problem is still an issue.

    "Typical logitech junk"

    November 2, 2006  |   By Fblack

Version: Logitech WingMan Software (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP) 4.2

    Pros

logitech hardware is often very nice looking and they have good ideas. The software is different story. I hope one day they get serious competition, maybe the quality of their software will pick up.

    Cons

#1 Their software fails to calibrate my joystick and my game pad.It wont do it on my PC. Oddly enough on my mac with 3rd party software, i have little calibration issues. So 3rd party drivers are superior to logitech the manufacturer--whats up with that? #2 support does not respond to emails.

    Summary

The software doesn't detect my wingman warrior on an xp machine so what is the use of it?
Still looking for a good driver for it so i hope one day logitec will wake up and offer real support with the same quality as their products

"It in incompatible with all other game devices"

    November 3, 2002  |

Version: Logitech WingMan Software (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP) 4.2

    Summary

I play games like Mortal Kombat Trillogy. It is a 2 player game. However, the software does not allow the use of any other game device, USB or otherwise. In windows XP there is no problem because windows has its own driver for the game devices, but in 98 it installs an invasive program that shuts down all other game devices present. This is impractical and annoying. Logitec refuses to make a driver that is independent of the crappy software. This is terrible.
