"Does what it is supposed to do, and does it very well."

    March 24, 2011  |   By robbifr

    Version: LogMeIn Free 4.1.157

    Pros

LogMeIn Free does what it is supposed to do, does it very well, and is free. What else can anyone want?

    Cons

The free version has some limitations (e.g., no file transfer). It's no big deal.

    Summary

Very good, very useful, and free.

"very good aid for many older persons"

    March 15, 2011  |   By toymakerpierre

    Version: LogMeIn Free 4.1.157

    Pros

i can now let my son fix my computor from his home rather than driving 1.5 hrs to my house to put it up to date. many of my elderly friends have computors and many have them updated from distances by their children

    Cons

non so far but don't start charging as this is very good publicity for the company.

    Summary

you can consider this free program as a helping tool to older or less knowledgeable persons when it comes to computing. by using this program there are less chances of leaving the older crowd behind.

"Does everything I need it to."

    March 11, 2011  |   By maniac_z2

    Version: LogMeIn Free 4.1.157

    Pros

Easy to use, feels secure, access from any internet connection. (work, friend's house). Great for helping family with minor computer troubles.

    Cons

There's no way to tell the program NOT to start with windows.

    Summary

The pros far outweigh the cons. It's the easiest to use remote desktop software that I've found (for both sides).
The one con however, is a sore point with me, and I am still looking for alternatives that don't try to hijack parts of my operating system.

    "Free Version Good for Price"

    February 2, 2011  |

    Version: LogMeIn Free 4.1.157

    Pros

Free, easy to use, can add multiple computers.

    Cons

    See summary

    Summary

I have used both the free & Pro versions of this software for years, It has been great. Unfortunately they recently decided to start charging an additional fee if you want to add additional users. Even if you already pay for the Pro version. This was included before, but now $300 more!! This feature played a key role in my original decision to use this software. After years of loyalty to it, establishing its use throughout our business, and recommending it to others, they have decided to pull the old bait and switch and start charging extra for the ability to add extra people to you same account. Even if you pay for one or more Pro subscriptions they want to charge you $300 more for this functionality, which was previously part of the package. It is disappointing to say the least and only leaves me concerned that if I continue to rely on this software, they may continue to remove core features and hold you for ransom.

I do not mind a company asking money for certain features. But what I DO mind is when you agree to pay for a service based upon features that are included, then once the provider has you "hooked" they drop or start charging for those features. It is a case of the old bait and switch.

But you can't go wrong with the Free version of this software.
