LinkedIn for iOS helps you connect and network with colleagues and meet new ones.
Streamlined networking: With its latest update, LinkedIn is now organized around five tabs. On Home you can share updates, links, and photos and like, comment, and share others' posts. The Me tab shows your profile info, including who's viewed you and your updates, liked or commented on your updates, and endorsed your skills. Compose and check messages on the Messaging tab. On My Network, you can see, like, and comment on updates from people in your network; see people you may know; check out invitations; and add connections. Finally, use Search to find people, schools, and companies.
Helpful tips: LinkedIn offers plenty of tips to strengthen your profile by adding personal, educational, and career information, so that it will get noticed by more people.
Post views: Like Twitter, LinkedIn tells you how many views each of your shares gets.
Spotlight: You may now find your LinkedIn friends directly from Spotlight on phones running iOS 9 or later.
3D Touch: On iPhone 6S and later, you may now use Force Touch to search, compose a new message, view activity, and share a post without the added step of entering the LinkedIn app.
Privacy features: Under Settings, then Privacy, choose whether LinkedIn shares your profile edits, what people see on your profile, who can follow you, whether you're suggested as a connection to people who add their contacts and already have your phone number, and whether LinkedIn can target third-party ads to you.
Too many apps needed for full functionality: LinkedIn used to be all-inclusive, with networking and job searching in the same app. In the interest of streamlining, we imagine, LinkedIn has since added new apps to separate and flesh out certain important functions. If you're seeking a job, looking to join professional groups, or find coworkers, you'll have to download LinkedIn's Job Search (iOS, Android), Groups (iOS), and Lookup (iOS, Android) apps, respectively. In other words, the LinkedIn app alone no longer cuts it.
LinkedIn for iOS's latest update makes it far easier to use as a networking app. But you'll have to download three other apps to enjoy what you used to get in this one app.
