Publisher's description
From AVG Technologies USA :LinkScanner Lite analyzes sites in real time to detect a wide range of online threats including malicious content, phishing, social engineering and targeted software exploits. As you surf the web, LinkScanner Lite site ratings tell you which sites are safe and which are dangerous at the only time that matters - right before you go there. Whenever you're surfing, just right-click any hyperlink on the web and LinkScanner Lite will give you an instant page security analysis. LinkScanner Lite integrates with major search engines to check organic and paid search results; a color-coded icon appears alongside each listing, so you get advance warning of poisoned sites and can steer clear of active threats. LinkScanner Lite is small, lightweight and won't impact system performance. It is free for personal use and compatible with major anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall products.

Version: LinkScanner Lite 2.6.3
Pros: Works as advertized to find malware Web sites before you go there.
Cons: Slows down surfing while it make its up-or-down determination.

Version: LinkScanner Lite 2.6.3
Pros: This application is easier to get along with then the full, paid version. Those with less experience and patients will find it somewhat useful. "McAfee site Adviser" is a better application.
Cons: This application will slow down your browsers paging and opening. I will not use any application that reduces the speed of my computer in any way. It's not as dominating as the paid version but still nothing I need or want on my system. it's difficult to uninstall and can cause problems for people using a wireless router. I recommend getting "McAfee Site Adviser" and forgetting about this application and the potential problems associated with it..

Version: LinkScanner Lite 2.6.3
Pros: I like having information when I'm surfing unknown sites, with so many baddies out there. I've used this and SiteAdvisor together, for a while to make comparisons, I like how this gives you a more detailed result without having to go to the website as you do with SiteAdvisor.
It's free, maybe not perfect but what it does is something that I'm prepared to wait a bit longer for than surf blindly.
Cons: It does slow down my system a bit and definitely slows my surfing, but the latter is for a reason, the real time scanning of search results for good/bad links is the reason that i use it after all. For prolonged search sessions this does seem to take quite a bit longer than SiteAdvisor, but you get the real time results on this.

Version: LinkScanner Lite 2.6.3
"Great program, but not all browsers are supported yet"
Pros: When you search with Google and any other search engine, LinkScanner Lite scans the links and tells you wether or not the website is safe to visit or not.
It displays a sign next to the search results and you can hover over it to find out more information.
You can also right-click on a website and perform a QuickScan to see if the site is good or bad.
Within the console you can also copy/paste or type a URL and it checks if the site is good or bad.
Cons: Only works with Internet Explorer and Firefox at this moment.
Searches take a bit longer because LinkScanner needs a bit more time to scan the results and give it a rating.
No other browsers than Internet Explorer and Firefox are supported, sadly ...

Version: LinkScanner Lite 2.6.3
"Good, but still like Siteadvisor better"
Pros: In searches, it works well. I like how it scans each link rather than basing safety on previous ratings
Cons: Using the free version, to see the safety for a site you are browsing, you must copy the address of the site, paste it into the program, and let it run the scan. Basically, it doesn't scan a site until you tell it to. Also, It does seem to slow browsing
