LineSort is an extension or plug-in that adds functionality to BBEdit, the Macintosh text editor from Bare Bones Software. LineSort is capable ofsorting large amounts of text with exceptional speed. The basic unit of sorting is a line, a string of text terminated by an end-of-line character.
What's new in this version:
- Output ordering is now controlled by three radio buttons (Forward-Reverse-Neutral). If Neutral is selected, LineSort checks for duplicate lines without sorting them. This feature is useful if you want to find or remove duplicates without actually sorting the input.
- If Show Count is checked, LineSort adds an instance count to each line. In other words, each set of n identical lines is numbered from 1 to n.
