The demo of Leaderz provides a taste of the full experience, but we doubt most players will come back for more. This turn-based strategy game puts you in control of one of five island nations. At each turn, you review the news, consult statistics and advisors, and select one of about a dozen possible actions. You might boost your economy, increase population, attack another country, or increase your reputation. The object is to "win with style," though it's not exactly clear what that means. We gather from the user manual (which is online and very difficult to find) that you have to overcome your enemies while remaining popular. Unfortunately, the demo limits the game to 15 turns, so you'll never come close to finishing. The primitive graphics, sound effects, and gameplay don't provide much incentive to pay $19.95 for the full version. For free, Leaderz might be worth a try. However, given its current price and the limitations of the demo, you'd do far better with another strategy game.Publisher's description

"funny ways to see the world economy, politics & warfare"
Pros: what i like the most is that you have to take decisions and think about consequences (preferably befor :) ). you get the feeling that you do control your own country, although you only rule by orders and stuff. but i can imagine a bit how it feels to mix politics & propaganda, economy & warfare - it's sooo cool. and even after you win, you wanna play again to see if there is a fater/better way to win. that is for battles - the tournament is more difficult ... but you still wanna try to win in different ways. and the good part is you can! i played with my roomate, as advisor, and we ended up kind'of fighting over decisions, so we had to make two different players! it was really fun.
Cons: i hope more maps will come. and some more surprises, you know, sort of (un)lucky events.

"It's funny and excellently ballanced, without easy wins"
Pros: This is a really amusing game! You should definitely try it - it's not difficult to learn, not difficult to play, and yet difficult to win ! The graphics is cute, the comments are funny, the difficulty is OK, but what makes it soooo nice is the scoring & winning!
So, briefly, the story says that you have to prove yourself worthy of leading the humans to a better place - read out-of-Earth - and make them a new world there. But ... surprise! It's not enough to kick everybody's ass with a huge powerful army - 'cause killing innocent people will diminish your score. Aaaa ... you wanna throw nukes ? Great, but first you have to build them! And, of course, you have to have the money to do that ... Great, then you invest in the economy ... until your opponents are actually releasing *hackers* to crash your economy. Then you will send the army ... or maybe just slander them a bit. Of course, your own people should be happy with you, otherwise they will start
deserting the country ... and you don't want to rule and empty country, do you?
There is no real sure-to-win path. 'Cause your opponents have all these weapons too. The combination of peace-economy-propaganda-army makes you think twice before actually commiting an order. And you have to decipher the newspaper for peeking at the other's affairs. You cannot predict what they will do ... but you can surely try!
To make it to the top spot, you have to play the tournament -- the real challenge, playing against more opponents, taking care of the population through the entire campaign and, even if loosing some of the battles, win the war!
A game that can keep you playing for hours, trying to figure out the best strategy ... you will win battles (for training, more or less), but the tournamnet is not for sure ...
Cons: What I miss is an on-line multiplayer extension, so that you don't have to share the same chair with your human opponents.
But for the rest, no con's.
