"Too Simple, Too Easy to Override"

Extremely Basic - Can only hope thief doesn't know about Ctrl + Alt + Del
Cons
User must remember to set the lock prior to shutting down.
Email to user upon incorrect password entry failed to work.
Unplugging of laptop failed to trigger email.Summary
Attempts were made to set false alarm. Found a thief can simply bypass the password screen using Ctrl + Alt + Del, although the task manager screen is blocked, upon coming out of the task manager screen an error message occurred with Laptop Sentry, shutting it down. This shutdown allowed full access to the laptop.
Other attempts were made to enter false passwords. This DID sound a custom audio message and an SMS Text Message to my phone. However, there were no details in the text message such as IP Address or other tracking information. -

Negligible impact on processing. Simple to setup and exceedingly easy to use. Will certainly deter theft.

I had a laptop stolen in the past, and even I will leave my computer unattended with this program, as the customizable alarm allowed me to record a deep voice saying "REPLACE THE CORD, THE POLICE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED!" What thief would continue?
Cons
Without a setup wizard, I had to click through each of the settings pages. While this was not difficult, I could have missed a particular setting. I would like to see a setup wizard added.

I tested it, and it works as described. Great help function. No impact on processing.

Shell integration would be a plus.
Summary
As a student who studies in the school library and at coffee shops, I used to have to pack up my computer and all peripheral devices every time I needed to go to the bathroom. This was a huge PITA. With Laptop Sentry, I can safely leave my computer unattended. In the event that my laptop is stolen, my important files will be emailed to my GMail account. This program therefore provides two layers of insurance against laptop theft. I can now use the pot in piece - without having my computer iwith me or rushing to ensure that it's there when I return.
