Version: Konfabulator 2.0
"Simply Brilliant"
Pros: Although I would never own an Apple Mac, I do love the intuitive OS and all it's features.
Widgets are a major factor in MacOS useability, and I was keen to add similar functionality to my XP Tablet PC Edtion desktop...searching on Google and other search engines turned up many results...some which asked for a £250+ payment(!).
Searching Download.com under Widgets turned up Konfabulator which is free. Konfabulator is a program which enables use of widgets downloadable from the products webpage, of which there are 100's available.
Personally, I only use two at the moment, the excellent Digital Clock widget which comes with the Konfabulator software download, and another which displays the capacities of my six HDD's, iPod, and other removable drives including Digital Camera, PDA and MemCard Reader.
I don't think I will ever remove this excellent prog unless a newer vers becomes available.
As for use of systems resources, I have barely noticed a dent in performance. During idle periods with Konfabulator and two widgets displayed, my performance peaks at 5% (while running iTunes also)and mem usage of just 238MB
Cons: No cons to this software at all, in my opinion!
