    "Awesome"

    Version: Knox 1.1.1

    Summary

I love it. I tried many backup solutions. I need to daily backup more that 20GB of data. With Knox not only I keep my data well organized and protected in vaults but I do an ultra fast backup to my external firewire Hard Drive. This is a great backup application, plus I love the encryption. I cannot live without it. It worths every penny! Apple should consider including this technology on the next Leopard release. I reccomend Knox as an awesome product.

    "Very Good."

    Version: Knox 1.1.1

    Summary

This program provides an excellent and user-friendly interface to make and organize encrypted sparse images.

Yes, you can create such images directly with Apple Disk Utility, but Knox provides the features and interface that should be a part of Disk Utility.

I bought this after 30 days, but I had to think hard before deciding to open my wallet. I agree with others that it is a bit over-priced. Perhaps $15-20 would be more reasonable for what it does. The somewhat high price is why I am taking off one star. Except for the price this is an excellent product.

    "Useful and well designed"

    Version: Knox 1.0.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
After evaluating the software for a while, I decided to purchase my own copy. It's been behaving fine so far, although there has been a problem with having Knox appearing on the menubar, as opposed to the dock. It suddenly refused to launch. In the dock it works flawlessly. The developers have been notified, I am not sure whether it is a problem with Tiger or not.
In terms of functionality, it does exatcly what it says on the tin, works transparently and has the ability to keep track of the vaults, whether they are available or not (in fact, as soon as I remove my external disk with some vaults on it, Knox immediately flags them as not available).
On a related note, for some reason the public forum provided for Knox users does not seem to work: I have posted a comment yesterday and today, upon checking it, it says it's empty, and "be the first to make a comment" Oops...

    "Not Bad"

    Version: Knox 1.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have typically used OS X's built-in encrypted images for securing data, but I like the interface Knox provides, as it will be easy to keep track of my various secured images and set unique backup policies for each. A product I will likely purchase after the eval expires.
