Knowledge Notebook for Mac allows you to compose and organize notes by subject using its basic yet intuitive interface. You can add searchable tags to your notes and work offline, making this app an adequate option for research and learning. Don't expect it to be a flawless app in terms of features, though.
With Knowledge Notebook for Mac you can create notes for any subject, but the limited text formatting and display options hinder their effectiveness. You cannot change the default font and only have bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough options. Saved notes appear under Notes by subject and are arranged chronologically by date. We liked that subjects were color-coded and displayed the number of notes they contained. Note tagging helps you stay organized, making it a lot easier for you to find notes. Another feature you'll like is the ability to attach documents and photos to your notes. Also available are an e-mail sharing option and a flash card creation wizard that helps you learn note material.
Overall, Knowledge Notebook for Mac proves to be a useful learning tool that offers more features than the average Mac notepad. Unfortunately, it suffers from its acute lack of text editing options, something that's quite unacceptable for a text editor. Still, you should check out this app if you are a student looking for a way to create and manage notes across several subjects.
