CNET Editors' review
One of the first things you learn when you start using Windows is Control+Alt+Delete, that magic combination of keys that brings up the Task Manager and lets you kill programs and processes that are frozen or otherwise running amok. Sometimes, though, even the Task Manager isn't up to the task. KillProcess is a simple utility that, as its name implies, can knock out pesky processes that Task Manager can't handle.
The program's interface is fairly intuitive, displaying a list of active processes and, across the bottom, several buttons for dealing with them. Users can kill individual processes or create lists of processes that can be killed all at once. Processes that are on a "kill list" can also be resurrected if desired. KillProcess comes with an options menu that lets users customize its behavior to some extent; users can, for example, set the program to run on startup or to suppress errors. The program comes with a decent Help file that, while not incredibly detailed, should be adequate for most users. We tried KillProcess with multiple processes and it terminated them immediately, which we thought was a nice change from futilely clicking the End Process button in Task Manager. It is true that disabling critical processes can cause some serious problems if you don't know what you're doing, so novices should be careful about killing processes that they're not familiar with. But for users who know what they need to kill and why, KillProcess works just fine.
KillProcess installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
Publisher's Description
From Orange Lamp Software Solutions:
The idea of KillProcess came up during development of another much larger and more complex application. This application would spawn a lot of other processes, and also depended on other applications spawning their own processes to communicate with the main application. A general run of this nasty application would start up something like 7 different processes all over Windows, all depending on eachother. This all ment that it would literally take forever to clean up the orphan processes all of the time (since they where GUI-less). This was why KillProcess was born. KillProcess lets you create an list of processes that should be destroyed and then perform an "batch-type" run on the list, killing of all of the processes listed. The KillProcess application can terminate almost any application on an PC running Microsoft Windows, including Windows Services and applications being debugged (but not while at a breakpoint) in a matter of millisecond. The Windows TaskManager also cannot terminate multiple processes at the same time. Either have the processes in your kill list, or select them in the process list and "kill" them manually. KillProcess includes a nifty process tracker, which can prevent any process in the system from starting to execute, and thus releasing precious CPU resources to applications that should be running instead.
Version 2.44 now supports Windows 7,fixed a bug with the process priority being displayed wrong if the Realtime setting was used and added kill lists for Windows 2008 and Windows 7.

"Nothing Special"
Version: KillProcess 2.44
Pros
Easy to use; idiot-proof
Cons
Doesn't kill hard-to-kill processes, so what's the point?
Summary
Look elsewhere for something that really does the trick.

"A good performer when required"
Version: KillProcess 2.44
Pros
When the task manager refuses to end a programme and it does often "Kill process" does the job with ease!Wouldn't be without it.
Cons
If there are any I haven't found them yet.
Summary
A small programme which does a big job,it certainly saves a lot of swearing in my house!
-
"It doesn't kill the process I downloaded it to kill"
Version: KillProcess 2.44
Pros
None really. It doesn't do what it claims to do.
Cons
I'm trying to use it to kill scan32.exe (McAfee Anti-Virus). KillProcess does absolutely nothing when I tell it to kill the process. Not even an error message.

"Very nice program"
Version: KillProcess 2.44
Pros
We have been running this program on all four XP Pro computers in our home for well over two years and have never had any problems with it. It will stop a process many times when the task manager will not and none of our machines have ever crashed.
Cons
We have found nothing to dislike. Plain and simple...it works.
-
"Should be NO stars! This program is TOTALLY worthless."
Version: KillProcess 2.44
Pros
NONE! There are no pros about this program at all!
Cons
It kills applications that need to be running and shuts down your comp if you're not careful.
Summary
Totally pointless!
