"Excellent plug-in but no longer works in iPhoto 9"
Version: Keyword Manager 1.5.5
Pros
Super intuitive method for quickly assigning keywords to photos in iPhoto. Apple should have licensed this technology and made it part of iPhoto.
Cons
iPhoto 9 breaks Keyword Manager 1.5.5 and there doesn't seem to be any way to contact the developer directly about this.
Summary
I didn't realize how much I used Keyword Manager with my photos until I discovered the hard way it no longer worked after installing iPhoto 9 as part of iLife 11. If the developer reads this, please let your registered customers know if and when there will be an upgrade!

"Great program if you don't mind being price-gouged"
Version: Keyword Manager 1.4.3

Like almost everyone else on here, I had a great time using the program during its trial period-- it's really helped me create and organize my Keywords with a great deal of efficiency. The boxes aren't intrusive and go along well visually with the rest of iPhoto, and I've had no compatibility issues with iPhoto up to ver. 7.1.4.
However, $22.61 (â?¬15 as of 9/22/08) is even more ridiculous than the $19 they supposedly originally charged. I'd love to know where the quoted $15 is coming from, because unless there's a hidden promo code I can't see, the only way I've seen to get a discount on this is to have seen a promotion on MacUpdate or MacZot from two years ago.
If there's a way to get this for the quoted $15, point me at it-- I'd actually pay that much for this tool. But for $22, I'd expect a bit more than a simple keyword manager, regardless of how the iLife suite works out price-wise in comparison. As a piece of software, it's simply not worth that much for what it does. -

This is an amazing app! It's turned assigning keywords to photos from a chore to a breeze! The ability to make keywords subsets of other keywords, so that adding one automatically adds the other, is worth the cost alone. Once you try it, you'll never want to go back. The only thing I can't evaluate is the support/documentation, because it's so intuitive that I never needed to read any docs, and so far, I haven't needed to contact their support. -
"Must-Have iPhoto Add-On"

This software is perfectly integrated into iPhoto and boosts iPhoto's capabilities immensely, giving it the keywording and metatagging capabilities it so badly needs. This implementation of keywording is superior to that found in Aperture. -

applications Apple should have included in the operating system, and the developers did such a good job, it looks like Apple did. Alas, I can't use this application, because I now use Aperture, so I bought it for my daughter. Excellent! -

After initially howling about the cost of this product, I've rewarded the developer for listening to their customers. This speaks very well for the authors and their future in software development. I'm reminded of a somewhat talented chap named Steve Becker who was impervious to feedback and continued ripping people off - left, right and center. Haven't heard from in a while, but I bet he still feels misunderstood and underappreciated. These guys, on the other hand, did a quick reality check and re-priced their product, at least temporarily (I bet it becomes permanent because it is a better price point both for their customers and for them). Oh yeah, the program? It rocks! Thanks guys. I wish you enormous success. -
"Nice!"

This utility is what iPhoto should come with built in!
iPhoto's own u/i for managing and applying keywords is terrible.
I downloaded this plugin today and in an hour had acheived more with my keywords than I have EVER EVER done with the built in tools.
The only problem with this utility is that it can be hard to stop yourself getting carried away when building hierarchies of keyword. -
"Well worth the price"

Time is money. This program is so efficient that no matter how much you believe you're worth per hour, you'll recoup your outlay very quickly whether you pay $12 or $19.
My only gripe is the payment system that tries to tell me which language I speak. Only half the population in Switzerland speak German, and I'm not one of them! So I have to guess what I'm doing.
