"Easy, safe, secure, intuitive, and free"

    January 19, 2010  |   By Heis_iam4evr

    Version: KeyWallet 1

    Pros

Have used for many years, never have had a security problem. It is easy to use, understand, and it is free but $ support is requested.

    Cons

Must be careful when saving and moving accounts and passwords from one PC to another. Follow instructions carefully.

    Summary

I really like this freeware. I have used it for more than 10 yrs. It is the best that I have ever downloaded. It has always been safe and secure, password protected passwords with random generation feature to make them even more secure. I would recommend this software to any friend of mine.

    "GOOD PROGRAM, BUT TOO BUGY"

    October 12, 2006  |   By hatemsn2

    Version: KeyWallet 1

    Pros

I was particularly fond of the drag and drop feature for signing in to sites.

    Cons

The program crashes and looses all the info that is stored. And you end up having to reinstall. After the third crash I decided to let it go.

"Okay if you rarely use your passwords"

    March 6, 2006  |   By opelate

    Version: KeyWallet 1

    Pros

Drag and drop of details into web text boxes is very handy.

    Cons

    - The process of adding a new password entry is way too long, and the screens it goes through could just as easily be combined as one.

    - When dragging and dropping from the KW screen to a web form, it minimises itself, so you have to open it again to get multiple things, such as a username, then a password. Very annoying when doing this often.

    - The Close (X) button, unlike many other small applications, actually closes the program. I'm so used to it just minimising such apps to the taskbar that I have to keep launching it.

    - There is no way to group similar keys together. So I have to search through them all.

    - You have to double-click on the tray icon to open it. I think one click is sufficient.

    - Interface uses too much space and the buttons are not easy to interpret.

All up, I am mostly just frustrated at how time consuming it is to use this program. It should just be quick and easy with no hassles, nothing too complicated.

    "Silly little gimick"

    August 9, 2005  |   By Marshallenin

    Version: KeyWallet 1

    Pros

    Nothing

    Cons

OK, to start with, its a silly little window that actually looks like a wallet. Problem is, you can only see up to 6 keys at a time. Any more than that and you just have to scrol down the list. It says that there is a sizeable version but when I tried that and moved it round my screen, it just left a trail of images of itself til my desktop was full.

The second thing I didn't like is that when I came to actually use it, I had to drag each field from the wallet and drop it in the field in the form. This is a real pain if you have 7 or 8 fields to fill. The other programs Ive tried either had auto fill or at least you could just click on each entry to paste them in

I also didn't like the fact that it installs without local help - You have to go to their web site and when I did, Internet Explorer warned me that the page was trying to run active content. Don't know what it was but that was enough for me!

    "Great Program"

    March 28, 2005  |   By nhhockeynut

    Version: KeyWallet 1

    Pros

I have searched all over looking for an easy to use, free, stable password manager that my wife would use. KeyWallet is it. Drag and drop functionality, auto-logins, a place to store passwords. All I wish is that it did it as automatically as RoboForm. But even so, it is still one of the easiest programs to use. I ligured out how to use it 5 minutes without using the help files. Why use this rather than RoboForm? I used up my free password quota and don't want to pay roboforms price. It is browser-independent also.

After 1 week of continuos use, no system crashes, no program crashes, just a workhorse of a program!

    Cons

The company (programmer) has stopped updating this program. What you see is what you get. It would be nice if someone would buy the rights to the software and keep working on it. There are a few skins made, but I'd like to see more. I could not get to the skins development tool online.
