Drag-and-drop login names, passwords, and other information is easily accomplished with this freeware, but advanced users may find the wizard tedious. KeyWallet is a user-friendly desktop tool with a skinnable interface. This application adds new data through a wizard or manually. Modifying, editing, and adding fields in the wizard is not exact. Field names are not copied, but must be manually edited. The data is copied as you fill in the form, but exactly so including errors. Too many mistakes and you must stop the wizard and start again. Manually adding keys is easier on simple login screens. A user password protects the data, but the program can be uninstalled without the password. Novices to intermediate users looking for a basic password keeper will favor this freeware, but advanced users will find more efficient and useful software elsewhere.Publisher's description
From KeyWallet :KeyWallet is a desktop utility that spares you the trouble of filling in your logins, passwords, and other personal data manually. You can automatically fill in data in browser forms (IE, Netscape, Opera, and so on), Java applets, Windows forms, and others. KeyWallet supports skins and encrypts your data using the Blowfish encryption algorithm.

Version: KeyWallet 1
"Okay if you rarely use your passwords"
Pros: Drag and drop of details into web text boxes is very handy.
Cons: - The process of adding a new password entry is way too long, and the screens it goes through could just as easily be combined as one.
- When dragging and dropping from the KW screen to a web form, it minimises itself, so you have to open it again to get multiple things, such as a username, then a password. Very annoying when doing this often.
- The Close (X) button, unlike many other small applications, actually closes the program. I'm so used to it just minimising such apps to the taskbar that I have to keep launching it.
- There is no way to group similar keys together. So I have to search through them all.
- You have to double-click on the tray icon to open it. I think one click is sufficient.
- Interface uses too much space and the buttons are not easy to interpret.
All up, I am mostly just frustrated at how time consuming it is to use this program. It should just be quick and easy with no hassles, nothing too complicated.

Version: KeyWallet 1
Pros: Nothing
Cons: OK, to start with, its a silly little window that actually looks like a wallet. Problem is, you can only see up to 6 keys at a time. Any more than that and you just have to scrol down the list. It says that there is a sizeable version but when I tried that and moved it round my screen, it just left a trail of images of itself til my desktop was full.
The second thing I didn't like is that when I came to actually use it, I had to drag each field from the wallet and drop it in the field in the form. This is a real pain if you have 7 or 8 fields to fill. The other programs Ive tried either had auto fill or at least you could just click on each entry to paste them in
I also didn't like the fact that it installs without local help - You have to go to their web site and when I did, Internet Explorer warned me that the page was trying to run active content. Don't know what it was but that was enough for me!

"Not 100% safe against Trojans"
Summary: I was impressed with this at first, but then after a little playing around found that the drag and drop and actual system can still be detected by a specialised keyboard logger (like Gator and others to be fair). I was hoping this would eliminate th... read more >>
