"When Nothing else worked TDSSKiller did"
Pros
Can run independently on a flash drive
It is exceptionally fast
Gives you a detailed report
Runs just fine in Safe Mode.Cons
It does seem to load with a blank screen, but if you wait long enough, Windows eventually boots.
Avast hated it, but it seemed to have worked anyway. I ran it in safe mode, just in case, but it didn't find anything after that.Summary
If I had known about TSSDKiller, I would have saved myself a full day of trying to get rid of the fake svchost.exe virus that was actually winrscmde.exe. It kept crashing my computer and going onto safemode with networking didn't stop it as it uses the internet to keep itself going.
However, I was able to keep it immobilized by telling Zone Alarm to kill it in the programs list. This kept my computer from crashing so that I can do the searches I needed to find something that would work. This was when I came across TDSSKiller.
And to think, I actually had planned on a reinstall.
Not only will I be recommending it to everyone who has a problem, but it's now on my flash drive along with all of the other tools I use to fix people's computers.
