"AVOID KASPERSKY"
Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
Pros
I cannot name any - was not even able to register the software
Cons
Tried to purchase Kasperksy Antivirus. It sucks! The activation number does not work and the technical support in Moscow is awful (and in Middle East is non existent). Lesson for me - do not be tempted by good technical reviews. Stick to a quality Western products like Norton Antivirus. I think it will take another 100 years till Russians will be learn how to produce any quality products apart from military equipment

The virus engine detects viruses in a split second !!Cons
Its a freaking resource hog !

"Good internet security with slight performance issue"
Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
Pros
Good scan with minimum false positive
Strong firewall (which can be customized)
Interface is clean and easy to use
Antivirus and URL scanner will protect your computer well.Cons
Require quite a bit of resources during start-up (High CPU usage)
Requires ~70mb ram most of the time even during idle
Scan speed could be faster.
Auto Idle scan could slow down your computerSummary
This is a solid internet security. However, if your computer is running at its minimum requirements, then you would have to do a little waiting. (especially during start-up. After the start-up lag, it should be fine)

"Thank you Kaspersky Lab, I won't forget it."
Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
Pros
Could be a great solution, but it means nothing when Technical Assistance and Customer support are not there for you when you need them.
Cons
It managed to slow down my PC, sometimes also freeze.
Technical Assistance didn't help, Customer Support answered like a robot (you can never know).
That's not the service I have expected to receive.Summary
I would like to thank Kaspersky for their unrivaled support & customer service teams,
for providing a new kind of customer experience, that left me absolutely speechless.
Right after I bought my new PC (core i7 based, 16gb of ram, quadro 2000 gpu),
I was looking for a good security suite to protect it.
After a bit of comparing, I have decided that a FREE security suite is not good enough to protect it,
and it is worth to buy a good security suite, that will deliver a bigger set of functions and features.
Then I bought Kaspersky PURE (December 14, 2011).
Happy and pleased, I have started working on my new PC, knowing that PURE protects it.
It didn't take long to understand that I also FEEL the protection of PURE.
On December 17, 2011 I have contacted Kaspersky Lab complaining about networking issues (like downloading files for 10kbps or something).
That's ofcourse after checking that all of my hardware is proper, and re-checking that while PURE is disabled I'm downloading from the same
servers on MAXIMUM SPEED.
Three days after, I have received a reply from Kaspersky Technical Assistance asking me to send a complete system info report so they will be able
to review it. Makes sense.
I missed the above reply by mistake (thinking they didn't reply yet) and saw it only a few weeks after.
Anyway, I have sent them the full system info report as they have asked, so we will be able to solve the issue. I also mentioned in this mail that
besides the networking issues, I have noticed that PURE causes writing to the Hard drive slow down or freeze (copying files and stuff).
These issues really interrupt working properly.
The next e-mail sent by me again, almost a month after - asking if is there anything new.
They have certainly responded, with an outstanding solution:
***** "We suggest you to perform a clean boot" *****
I don't get it. Why should I run Windows 7 clean booted, when It's so obvious that the root of the problem is PURE?
It is that simple:
PURE ON = EVERYTHING BARELY WORKS
PURE OFF = EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT
I really think they are making laugh of their customers, if that is their solution.
A stable PC does NOT have to run an OS with 'CLEAN BOOT' to function properly.
If Kaspersky PURE malfunctions because of other applications, that is THEIR job to analyse and debug it. NOT MINE!!
SO TELLING ME TO "PERFORM A CLEAN BOOT" IS NOT AN APPROPRIATE SOLUTION!
IF I WANTED TO PARTICIPATE IN A BETA TESTING PROGRAM, I WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT!
I sent them an e-mail, explaining them that their solution is not good enough (or too bad),
and told them that if they think that there is no other solution, I will request to get a refund,
SINCE MY FINE SECURITY SUITE IS DISABLED, JUST FOR MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO WORK!
The next e-mail I have got contains these words:
"Dear customer, We have received your reply but we didn't understand which results you encountered after applying the 'clean boot'."
Seems like combined words that creates sentences confuses them.
So, what am I doing now? I bought a product that I'm not pleased of, the technical support probably need to get support themselves.
Last option: GET A REFUND, AND GIVE THE LICENSE BACK.
I have contacted Kaspersky Labs Customer Support, asking a refund and telling them the whole story, that I'm not really using the product because
of the issues I have, and that the technical support didn't manage to help me.
Yes, they replied.
No, it didn't seem like someone cares.
WATCH THIS:
"Thank you for contacting the Kaspersky Lab online store.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We have received your request for a refund on order number ***********.
Please accept our apologies; the Kaspersky Lab online store provides a
period of 14 days for evaluation of most products. After 14 days the
refund period ends and is strictly enforced. This is outlined in our
refund policy located at:
http://store.digitalriver.com/store/kaspersk/en_IE/DisplayReturnAndCancellationsPage"
Who was that, replying me? A ROBOT?
In conclusion:
I am sure PURE is a great product, but nothing is perfect.
I thought that Kaspersky is one of the best, apparently it's pretty much like the rest.
I am sure people will understand that BETTER SERVICE WINS.
KASPERSKY LOST.
KASPERSKY:
I believe that a company that respects itself, and it's customers, must do more than you did to make the customer satisfied.
It's not all about terms and policies, sometimes you have to think a bit out of the box and make a little effort for your customers.
I have no doubt that I will not buy any of your products in the future, and I will not recommend anyone to use your products.
Those $80 I paid for nothing, won't make you or me rich, that's only about the principle.
I'm just too nervous to pay again for a security suite.
Probably I will stick with the freeware, the support I will get there if i'll need is identical to your's.
Thank you Kaspersky for an amazing experience.
I won't forget it. -
