"DON'T BUY THIS, WE GOT SCAMMED"

    August 6, 2010  |   By DoddietheApe

    Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

    Pros

Works fine for ONE WHOLE MONTH.

    Cons

Product shows error message: "Number of activations exceeded" after ONE FREAKIN MONTH

    Summary

Hubby tried out Kaspersky Antivirus for a whole year and liked it. He bought the Renewal Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (Auto-Renewal Service) - 3
licenses (1 year) and installed it in all our computers. It was working fine until August 1, 2010 ALL OUR KASPERSKY PROGRAM QUIT WORKING. We called Kaspersky Korea (we are based here) and they said they can't help since we bought online. Called Kaspersky USA and they said the same thing. Finally called Kaspersky International Headquarters when an unhelpful engineer told us our activation code was only valid for one month. Then tried calling Digital River, the website where we bought it, and they told us to uninstall and reinstall. Still, activation code and program still not working. KASPERSKY SUCK SO BAD!!!!

"Currently the best of the lot"

    July 25, 2010  |   By Tech_Guardian

    Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

    Pros

Comprehensive & accurate detection of ~97% of current threats. Yes, a bit of a hassle in the beginning, but good security after it's set up properly.

    Cons

Does take good working knowledge to configure to your particular environment. Not a dummy AV (like Symantec & McAfee) that says you're protected when you're really not. Custom advanced settings configuration a must.

    Summary

I became a reseller of Kaspersky, but only after thoroughly testing all the rest. And, yes, I do get direct access to tech support, so I know what's going on behind the scenes. They're quick to analyze, counteract & update better than any other AV company. THERE IS NO 100% BULLETPROOF VEST AGAINST COMPUTER THREATS! Always have redundant reactive malware detectors such as Malwarebytes & Spybot. I only stand behind it, 'cause I use it myself. But then again, you're only as good as your last success. So, Kaspersky is on top for now...

"Probably it is good protection of the computer, but ..."

    July 2, 2010  |   By Nortonpal

    Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

    Pros

    Fast installation.

    Cons

Difficult and unnecessary options firewall's options. The interface.

    Summary

I used this program of less than one hour. Therefore I cannot write a high-grade response. However I have familiarised with results of testings of this program and should recognise its efficiency. Unfortunately I have not had time to analyze its work in detail. Why? Because I could not quickly change adjustment firewall.By default Kaspersky resolves access to the network for all programs which in its opinion can be trusted. It did not suit me.This program has a lot of difficult (and as it seems to me unnecessary) options. But has no simple mode of inquiry of an exit of programs in a network. For different processes and programs I should specify various rules etc. Similar Internet Security programs (NOD 32, NORTON, McAFEE etc.) have simple function for an exit from an automatic mode of firewall. Thus Norton and especially McAfee have not less options, than Kaspersky. I write my response for people who want to supervise an exit of programs in a network in the simple and clear way.Kaspersky it is not capable of it. Thus this program does not find any wrecker after use Norton. And I am assured that McAfee IS safeguards the computer not worse than Kaspersky. But thus it has more simple and logical options.

"5+ YEAR USER AND STILL LOVING K.I.S."

    June 25, 2010  |   By Spastic Newman

    Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

    Pros

Runs silently in the background. Very easy to install and setup. KIS 2010 is even easier to install for a beginner from the previous versions. Updates quietly and never bothers me. Very easy to set up the automated tasks.

    Cons

Nothing that I have found so far with this version. If I do find something I will come back on here and post it with a reply from Kaspersky on what they said of the problem.

    Summary

So far I have used Kaspersky for 5+ years now and have never had a problem. Let me correct that. The database got corrupted and I had to revert back to the previous database and then rerun the update and everything was corrected in 10 mins total. I run KIS on 5 computers and they all run very good. Never a virus problem ever. I also don't go looking for infected websites either nor do any high risk surfing. I can not say enough good about KIS but that I will stick with it. Hope this helps someone out with their search for a good internet security program.

    "hard to use"

    June 24, 2010  |   By rsanchez

    Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

    Pros

It works well, but I have gotten a lot of false reports.

    Cons

It takes awhile to get help, and the help is somewhat confusing. Worse, it is hard to use and understand when reading the help section.

    Summary

I want to find one that works as well as this, but is easy to understand when blocking sites, allowing sites. Many games on bigfishgames.com have problems. Wild tangent is very much disliked by this program.
