    "High detection rate, low compatibility."

    June 2, 2014  |   By Reshiram

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

    High detection rate

    Cloud assisted protection.

    Cons

Suddenly crashes (7 times in 1 hour) makes systems vulnerable to threats not even restarting it self, Bug report send failed (10 out of 10) this makes Kaspersky very useless.

Security addons are incompatible with Google Chrome (Google Chrome blocks it)

very slow response rate, Explorer freezes until scan is complete for each files.

    "Not the best in market"

    April 20, 2014  |   By wr3239

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

    Lot of features.
    Interface is not that difficult.

    Cons

-It takes a long time to load and the machine freezes till KIS is completely loaded.
-Even after it is loaded, there is a general performance degradation of the laptop.
-Safe money option doesn't works at it's own wish and doesn't work for all browsers.

    Summary

The performance issues that KIS creates, makes it a totally unusable internet security software. Avoid it unless you don't mind waiting 3-4 mins each time you start your laptop.

"Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 not loading again"

    April 3, 2014  |   By eakerr

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

It's a good product after it loads

    Cons

Forever waiting to finish loading. I too think KIS 2014 is a waste of money. It behaving like an tourist scam. KIS was okay until 2012, then started going downhill. We all need a reliable internet security program but where can we get one nowadays?

"Brought my machine to a crawl"

    January 24, 2014  |   By cwallenpoole

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

Makes people feel better about themselves.

    Cons

Slowed my computer down by at least a factor of 10.

    Summary

I received a work machine with Kaspersky pre-loaded on it. The laptop was the latest generation of Macbook. I was surprised at the performance: 10 seconds to open a folder is bizarre and unacceptable, a USB monitor would crash with the slightest provocation, and applications were significantly less stable than my Macbook from 2011.

I disabled Kaspersky and suddenly all of those problems go away...

    "Nope....not for me anymore... either!"

    January 3, 2014  |   By dewul

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

    Undoubtedly a good virus scanner.

    Cons

    Very bad user-interface
Very slow in some parts of the settings
Spent many, many hour (days in fact) on vainly trying to solve some technical issues.
    Tech support never responds

    Summary

I have been Kaspersky-fan for a little over 7 years now and encountered a number of technical issues.
It would be a way too long a story here(and too technical).

The problems I had could not be solved (forum)

In the end and after spending too much time on the issue(s) it gets down to Tech Support, right?

Well, I have experienced that submitting tickets is totally useless: they never, never respond.
Reminders, even if they are'escalated', remain unreplied.
After weeks the tickets are simply closed and I am being requested to fill out a questionare rating their support.
Likely these questionares are being auto-forwarded to a recycle-bin though.
My questions were valid ones, technical ones, but also ones like costs for upgrading from a 3pc to a 5pc license.

Kaspersky more or less _made_ me switch to Norton Internet Security.

I have now installed Norton Internet Security 2014 and you know, my problems are gone! Really.
What did not work or were blocked or whatever whilst using Kaspersky, works fine with Norton.
(No, I am not a shareholder, but a happy NIS-user now!)

    "Great product, a few cons"

    December 31, 2013  |   By CupcakesWillRule

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

    -Attractive user interface
    -Lot's of great features
    -Simple and easy to use
    -Solid protection

    Cons

-No custom install option when installing
    -High RAM usage

    Summary

Great product just could use a custom install option and lower RAM usage.

    Updated on Jan 4, 2014

Super high RAM usage, over 100 MB.

    Updated on Jan 8, 2014

When the computer sleeps, it will stop scanning. Avast! can keep the computer from sleeping so why not Kaspersky?

    "Nope....not for me anymore..."

    December 12, 2013  |   By speedfool

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

Since I uninstalled it, I do not know for certain, but it may still be a very good malware product.

    Cons

Interface sucks now, the entire program has been dumbed down for the general user market, it really slowed down the Windows 8 PC I put it on.

    Summary

I used Kaspersky for a number or years. I first got it when I learned it was a great product for enthusiasts and advanced PC users. It had loads of features, did not bog down my systems, and seemed like an iron fortress for my PC against malware. After spending a year away from it using Norton (because my desktop was down and I used my laptop which had Norton on it), I installed Kaspersky the other day and I was shocked! The interface had been slowly getting uglier and uglier, but now....it is just awful....plain ad uninspiring. Since everyone else is doing the same thing with their software, going to the plain flat looking interfaces, I guess I should have expected. I was going to live with that until I got to see how much the new KIS slowed down the system, especially on start up or reboot. And Kaspersky support....well, I have never had a good experience with them. So, bush bye Kaspersky, at least until you go back to being more of an expert user product.

    "Stick with MSE and Malwarebytes!"

    December 8, 2013  |   By ketchumite

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 14.0.0.4651

    Pros

    None that I can find.

    Cons

Locking up a system is not acceptable.

    Summary

Stick with Microsoft Security Essentials (install first) and use Malwarebytes. Both are FREE. You have the option to purchase Malwarebytes. I do not recommend this as running both concurrent at start-up can cause conflict. Just stick with the free version and run it manually as often as you would like. There is NO antivirus on the market that is going to protect you 100% - manual intervention by periodically running scans yourself is key - Don't wait for the software to "do it's thing"... Don't be lazy! I agree, Norton and McAfee are THE WORST!!! Watch out for those "remote" repair guys - I have been doing remote work for 10 years now, in the IT business for 27... Be careful who you allow on your system! I Started with Cray Super Computers, IBM Mainframes and then decided to help the public with home PC's. I hope this info helps someone out there.
