    "allowed malware the first day"

    December 4, 2014  |   By patrick_omalley

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 15.0.0.463

    Pros

Only had it a day and already have problems

    Cons

In the fist day, when I installed FIlezilla, from Filezilla's site, it puts this evil malware called Vosteran on your machine that takes over as a search engine. Even if you go into Chrome to remove it, it adds itself back in. Vosteran is evil.

Simple, but Kaspersky didn't stop it.

    Summary

I got it cheap, and its a lot of work to change, but there's no way I should have this problem this quickly

    "Few settings adjustments"

    November 28, 2014  |

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 15.0.0.463

    Pros

Was a big fan of Kaspersky a few years ago, then tried others. After many great reviews tried this one. On install it said I had Baidu anti virus installed and had to remove. Found out it was downloaded in background by Format Factory a program I use a lot. As I've been using Avast anti virus. Well done for finding a poss problem.

    Cons

Big mistake Over 3 hours to install, every time I use the computer it is in permanent rootkit scan. So very slow and are my emails scanned for viruses?. Don't know there are so few setting you can adjust. That includes type of scan and when to scan. My backups take longer as well now.

    Summary

Great name and reputation, shame about the product in daily use.

"Greatly slows down everything it is installed on"

    November 26, 2014  |   By semw111

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 15.0.0.463

    Pros

Support Engineers try hard to fix problem

    Cons

Greatly slows down everything it is installed on. This includes beefy servers, high end PC's, laptops, everything.
They will not give you a refund, even after a de-install.

    Summary

I am an IT Manger. we worked with tech support for months, but could not address the performance issues. We we had to de-install it from all devices and went with McAfee

    "BEST INTERNET SECURITY IMPROVEMENT EVER"

    October 26, 2014  |   By colombous

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 15.0.0.463

    Pros

I have used kaspersky for 6 years already 3 years were internet security because back then, pure was better than pure 2.0, 2.0 ruined my computer so i downloaded internet security. The 2013 and 2014 froze my computer for a minute or two .evrytime i launch a certain program. 2015 Internet security is a whole new product that pwned all previous versions. 2015 is much more stable and faster during windows startup and doesnt freeze wwhen you click on other apps when it hasnt loaded yet.

    Cons

Auto Update is annoying. It only works once in a while. when it doesnt it tells you to update.

    Summary

one of the best anti-virus software out there because kaspersky knows what is a virus and allows users to choose to delete or leave. That is very important for people who does stuff on computer.

    "Promises with degrading performance"

    July 21, 2014  |   By TOMW17

Version: Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 15.0.0.463

    Pros

Still good antivirus, inviting GUI, many useful features, relatively easy to use.

    Cons

Serious impact to the system and performance, slow, unreliable, unsolved compatibility issues, almost all safety features are buggy, very poor support (can be different by countries) , corporate arrogance. KIS includes many services and features that Kaspersky has been unable to develop and make fully usable and reliable for long years now.

    Summary

The new GUI as well as many safety features are dependent and subordinate to Kaspersky marketing project to boost sales. They are very inviting but KIS is getting heavier, slower, buggier, more incompatible, and less reliable from KIS 2012.

    ---------------------------
Recently antivirus solutions give very limited protection and a reliable IS software need many more security features. The KIS series have them but just don't work.

The "TOOL" section offers many features, but they are all buggy, they retrieve false results and fixing them might corrupt the system. E.g. after running " Microsoft Windows Troubleshooting" and fixing some recommended security issues the following "Vulnerability Scan" still lists the same issues as security risk, clicking "FIX", it does nothing.
Virus scan sometimes detects malwares sometimes not. I run 6 full-scans consecutively and it detected the same malware only twice from 6 scans.
I could use all the 15 000 characters to enumerate all the dangerous bugs.
    --------------------------------
Kaspersky knows about all the bugs for a long time and either they just do not care or have no idea or they don't have the required technical background or potential to fix them. My guessing is -- both.
    -------------------------------
Prime danger that KIS incompatibility problems and bugs are hidden, hard to notice and detect for average users, and when the system is corrupted or just not protected properly, users will lose association with the triggering issue thus KIS and will not know what went wrong.
    ------------------------------
I tested many other IS software, all had some minor issues, but not that much and not that unpleasant or dangerous that KIS has.
