I like the fact that it was able to find viruses which Sophos and other anti-virus programs could not. That IS impressive!

It wasn't able to remove a single virus on my system. NOT GOOD. (I had to remove them myself with other programs)

It wasn't able to remove a single virus on my system, but at least it pointed in the paths where the viruses were so that I could remove them myself using another anti-virus tool: BitDefender. This is not good of Kaspersky.
Although I have been impressed by it's high detection rate where not even Sophos could find these viruses, I'm unsure of if I would ever buy this product. (I don't think I ever will, but ever is a long time... Maybe it get's better in the future? The detection engine is very impressive!) -

For today check on ban was passed with all keys taking place in archive. All of them workers. I want to add, that keys are the most optimum for today a way of maintenance of work of an antivirus. Different program interventions in structure of the program or in the register with the purpose of maintenance of prolongation of term of work can result in negative consequences, such as impossibility normal functioning and the miss{passing} of viruses.

Have it running solid on one PC that is directly attached to Cabel.
Very light. No conflicts.Cons
On wireless network was not able to access internet, folder sharing and printer sharing. Had to deactivate firewall and turn on windows firewall. Still keeps dropping internet. This is a nightmare. I had to uninstall it. Very disapointed.

If and only if you don't have a wireless network this seems to be a great solution. Otherwise beware!

Very good firewalls, proactive defence, user firendly, designed well, very good customisability, makes detailed reports and has a set of good scanners.
Cons
No desktop icon, certain scans can take a long time, CAN be a CPU hog, updates can be very slow and had a few problems installing it.
Summary
I was supprised as to how well this programme performed, after downloading a string of moderate to crap protection programmes to test this one really stood out and showed high end quality protection and scanning technologies.
The aspects fo this programme that really make it stand out when compared to most of the other free downloads on Cnet are that the firewalls that come with this programme are both of a database style and proactive detection, although you do have to turn on 2 more of the 3 proactive protection that are avaliable, which is a little strange but on a whole the firewall is great.
The design and the layout of everything on was set out well and was clear, nothing seemed to be hidden. This is the first of a string of downlaods form this site which i have seen that has a multiple scanners, a critical area scanner, my computer scanner, startup objects scanner and a rootkit scanner. The Critacal areas and Startup objects scanners scan relatively uickly but the my computer and rootkit scanners take an age, it was over 3 hours for both on maximum security setting.
The levels of customisability in this programme are great, I can see this working well for a novice user and a more experainced one, you can change the sensitivity on the scanner, change the proactive detection setting, the firewall setting and many more. Another aspect of this programme that I really liekd was the detailed reports it made all the time, they can be quite usefull if you get infected and want to know where it came from.
Things that let this programme down are few and most dont hinder its performance much, minor things like not having a desktop icon I found a little irritating, I can understand if its for a business, but for home computers I would prefer one. Also the updates took very long to download, other programmes such as Spybot or Webroot programmes download updates quickly, Kaspersky tended to take about 6-7 minutes. Two more serious problems that I experianced that, too an extent, let this programme down a bit where that it CAN be a CPU hog, I watched the CPU usage during its scans and it woudl be all over the place, sometimes 14% then all the way up to 98%, it seemed very random, and did affect my system by slowing it down a bit. Another concern was that the downloaded free trail seems to ahve some corrupted files, when I finished installign this, it told me that a certain file was corrupt and woudl need a reboot and to be fully updated that took forever to finnish, so I did this and waited for the updater to finnish before i could start usign the programme, but strangely enough it told me that it had fully updated everythign for some reason, so I had to update it again. After that the programme seemed to update and work fine.
If you can live with the fact that it has no desktop icon, that certains scans can take hours on end, that it can eat your CPU and that it updates very slowly then I strongly suggest that you get this, its one of the best I have used in a while, I'd even buy it.
As i mentioned earlier I think that Kaspersky works well for both novice users and more experianced ones.
