"One of the 3 best compressors out there"
Version: KGB Archiver 1.2.1.24
Pros
Extremely high compression ratios.
Easy to use.Cons
Very resource intensive, meaning it's quite slow even on my 3.1 Ghz processor.
Summary
This compression software seems to be able to produce the worlds best compression on certain file types. It works extremely well for Microsoft office documents. It also works extremely well for quite a few other file types.
The only compressor that comes close is UHARC, or WinUHA (Which uses UHARC). UHARC is quite a fair bit faster, and will beat KGB on a few files. 7-Zip is a faster alternative to UHARC and will again, beat it on some file types, however it is quite rare for files under 100 MB.
KGB is slow and very resource intensive, however I do recommend you download it along side with WinUHA(UHARC) and 7-Zip for ultimate file compression on every file on the computer. -
"KGB Archiver is a unique program"
Version: KGB Archiver 1.2.1.24
Pros
This KGB Archiver can compress some files even smaller than
any other archiver out there. The reason that it takes longer than
the usual compression program is because it's compressing files even smaller than usual.
So, in fact, if another software program also compressed a file from 3.8 GB to 0.65 GB, then it would also take a long time too; It's just the nature of the math. You can't change physics. Some things just take longer when you compress things to extremes.Cons
The cons are that it unexpectedly shuts down (crashes)when running
sometimes. I don't know why. Maybe my machine is complex.Summary
Nice invention.

"Great tool for archiving"
Version: KGB Archiver 1.2.1.24
Pros
Offers greater compression than many other archiving programs. It's easy to use, even for those of us who are new to these things.
Cons
Depending on the degree of compression you choose it can take a very long time to finish even medium size files.
Summary
I would recommend KGB to anyone who has a lot of files they need store. If the file type can be compressed this tool will get the job done well. Just make sure you have time to let it work.

"NICE COMPRESSION but it's VERY SLOW"
Version: KGB Archiver 1.2.1.24
Pros
This application offers an very good file compressor. It compressed 3.8GB down to about 650MB.
Cons
The app is EXTREMELY slow. It's so slow, it's almost unusable. It took about 6 hours to decompress the 650MB file (this is the file that was originally 3.8GB).
Summary
Overall, it's a handy little tool. However, compression and decompression will take quite an extensive amount of time. I give it a 3/5.
