Version: K-Meleon 1.5.3
"The best browser there is"
Pros: Lightweight and stable. It utilizes the standard Windows API, providing a simple and clean (yet old-fashioned) look. It uses very little memory while still providing standard browser functions (password saving, tabs, bookmarks toolbar, etc.).
Cons: A little intimidating to those who rely on "user-friendliness," as customization involves editing config files. Also, not flashy and lacks the add-ons and themes of FF and the like.
Summary: K-Meleon is minimalist heaven. It does everything you need it to while maintaining a small memory footprint (this means NO FF-style memory leaks). If you're looking for a pretty, modern-looking browser with all sorts of complex capabilities, this is not for you. However, if you appreciate a dependable, open-source browser that doesn't overwhelm you with unnecessary functionality, K-Meleon is ideal.
For a derivative browser, search for "K-MeleonCCF ME"
Updated on Aug 12, 2009(It now seems that K-Meleon does have some memory issues, at least in the version I'm running. They are rather insignificant compared with other browsers, but a slight disappointment nonetheless. I can't confirm that they occur in all versions, so your experience may vary.)
