    "JobTabs 2006 - Great Software!"

    June 15, 2008  |   By Holmes245

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 2006

    Pros

JobTabs 2006 is great software to use if you're in a job search or looking to "keep tabs" on your career. The software really saved me a lot of time compared to what I was doing before - setting up a spreadsheet and trying to record what jobs and companies I applied to. JobTabs also allows me to record important information and keep track of my professional network as well as places I've worked at before. If you're currently job searching, I would strongly recommend that you give this software a try, reading the Help file and learning what the software can do for you. It's well worth the time spent, believe me. I've tried other job searching software and JobTabs was just right. Whereas I found others to be either too general or too convoluted, JobTabs 2006 did exactly what I needed it to do efficiently while keeping a simple straightforward interface. Definitely worth the money, in my opinion. I finally found that job I was looking for and JobTabs 2006 made the process a lot easier.

    "JobTabs is invaluable"

    June 15, 2008  |   By murrayfife

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 2006

    Pros

JobTabs has been a lifesaver to me. Before using JobTabs I was just applying for jobs with no thought to who I was sending my resume to, and even if it met the requirements of the position. By using JobTabs to track my job hunting activites, and recording the contacts, my resume to interview hit rate has skyrocketed. JobTabs support has also been excellent, they have given me numerous (free!!!) suggestions and critiques on my resume that I am sure have helped me as well. If there was a job hunting book from JobTabs, I would buy that in a heartbeat as well.

    "An honest review"

    April 22, 2008  |   By steve_at_cnet

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 2006

    Pros

The other reviews do not match my experience and I wonder if they're genuine. I would normally give it 2 *'s but I gave it 1 to offset the possibly bogus reviews.

The best thing about Jobtabs isn't the software itself, but the sample data and tips included in the package. Outside of the example data, Jobtabs simply helps you organize your resumes, postings, and log your activity. It is worth a try if you are challenged in organizing your job seeking data.

    Cons

Jobtabs crashes constantly on my PC, especially when trying to save jobs. The built-in browser is limiting, it would be much better to have an explorer or firefox jobtabs plug-in. Central to job searches, a calendar is lacking.

    "Couldn't run it"

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 3.3.1186

    Cons

We don't have admin privileges on our PCs, and the application failed to install an ActiveX component, and wouldn't run.

    Pros

This software application is leagues above anything else out there. It is the most useful software program I have come across in a long time. I cannot imagine looking for a job without this tool. It has vaulted my job search from despair and consternation to one of optimism, control and confidence. Kudos to the guys at JobTabs for putting this program out there!

"The program is great, just like the people who made it!"

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 2006.3.2 build 1163

    Pros

I've been actively using this program since I downloaded it last week. It is incredible! It's not too complicated, just what you need to keep up with job hunting, resumes, contacts. Minor problem saving cover letters over the weekend, emailed them and they had it fixed on Sunday night, emailed me and followed up with a phone call on Monday. Had a problem getting email to work and they worked on it with me, found a problem in jobtabs and fixed it! John and Michael are great! working on the troubles afterhours and following up with emails and phone calls, you don't get that with the big guys! Download this and you won't need anything else!

"Well Thought out Tracking Tool- not just for job hunters!"

    August 26, 2006  |   By darrenv

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 3 build 1133

    Pros

Offering a complete set of management tools focused on helping in a complex job search, JobTabs also provides the type of features that help me track my resume versions and research notes throughout all of my career as I continue to keep up with my various contacts, network acquaintances and such.

The ability to track resume and cover letter versions is a key to the greatness of JobTabs while the inclusion of the 'Resources' tab for tracking general notes and information, activity tracking and the agents and job tracking functions combine to create by far the most copmlete, useful and powerful job search and career maintance tool I've ever seen.

    Cons

I think the company and recruiter tabs/information could be combined and differentiated by just a checkbox or drop down/title or some such - it seems a bit redundant to treat them as completely separate types of entities when the information tied to each is nearly identical. I'd like to see a more advanced cover letter editor and a means for tagging a cover letter as a reference to a stored location letter such as those stored with my resume on Monster.com or careerbuilder.com etc, rather than forcing me to create a cover letter every time I use the apply for this job wizard.

"Great program. Very well thought out."

    August 9, 2006  |   By ilmguy

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 3 build 1128

    Pros

This program allows the user to keep track of the resumes and cover letters you have distributed. It is also very easy to customize them from within the application. No more quitting your job management program to go into MS Word to perform these revisions.

    Cons

I have run into occasional bugs but each time I've notified John, he has responded with an email or telephone call to let me know if he was able to duplicate the problem and, if so, what his next step is. Great technical support overcomes any weaknesses this program may have.

"Highly Recommend !!! FINALY, A CAREER MANAGEMENT TOOL"

    May 25, 2006  |   By point5

Version: JobTabs Job Search and Resume Builder 2.1 build 1066

    Pros

Congratulations to John and the Job Tab team. Nothing on the market comes close to Job Tabs for a serious and organized job search. Job Tabs is much more than a job searching tool or database; it is a CAREER MANAGEMENT program. After all, we all are temporary employees. Everyone will eventually leave their current employer for some reason. The lucky ones will retire. The reason I call Job Tabs a CAREER MANAGEMENT program is because the smart job searcher never stops looking for opportunities to position themselves for their next job. It is the next job you need to be prepared for. Job Tabs Career Management program allows you to keep all of the necessary and important information such as former manager, subordinates, job duties, resumes, cover letters, history of conversations and important names and contacts etc., all at your finger tips and in one program.

    Cons

None - This company is for real. I actually have talked to the the president of the company and he is a perfectionist in the highest degree. How many software company's actually talk to you on the phone on their dime to find out what you want in the program??? This program WILL NOT mess up your computer. These guys are pro's.
