Pros
1.Effective on leaktest. See the test results from firewallleaktester.com and matousec.com (tested version is v2) by yourself.
2. Small footprint -- it takes about 6.5M on my system, while the comodo takes about twice.
3. Sometimes it is easy to set up, for example: I suffered alot to have my ftp server work with comodo, while with jetico it is just several click, even easier than sygate.
3.Small in size, especially when compared to the new 39M ZA free
4.With ZA, I used to have to restart the router every time after running several certain programs. I never meet the same problem after using jetico.
5.I personally like the interface and the traffic meter.
6.There are some pros in the forum who can help you or even do it for you to make the application rule:)
Try it yourself. Don't depend on cnet's editor review too much, because they can make mistake (e.g. you can find programs listed in the wrong category) and they have their own emphasis (say, interfaces) or even prejudice.
IF you are not sure about a process, just google it on the net.
Cons
1. The new version (v2) will be shareware, and it conflicts with my system and cause a significant slowing down during startup. That means, I probably have to switch to other free firewalls after some time.
2. The rule making is not so easy. I've spent one hour in forum to read articles:) Why can't they simply make some rules package for downloading.
3.After the update, some app will be asked again for the admission to access the internet.
4.Occasionally, the tray icon stops animated (keep grey even you are surfing the internet). This normally needs a restart of the firewall.
5. It seems easy to turn it off. A password protection might be useful.

1. Very high protection and control.
2. Saving configurations.
3. Low recource consuming.
4. You must learn a little about system and security :)
5. You can find reviews of leak tests and comparision with other firewalls. JPF is the best.
Cons
1. Dificult interface but it is posible to save configuration so you can propagate it into other instalations
I realize that is software for people which know something about system and networking but if you want to be safe you need to know something and it. This program forces you to get this knowledge.

I wasn't able to tried the software! whenever it boot up from Window XP, It will crush instantly and hangup the system after I choose to allow/block any program. I would thought that my PC might have problem. But no way! Tested in some PC and laptop, some successfully working for few minutes. It started to hangup the system again. Not recommended for beginner users and this is not a freeware after when this program is finalize.

I bought Sygates Firewall before they went out of business and that really can make a person mad!!!
No more updates or nothin... Hell if I'm buying another one - I'll stick to free firewalls.
Of all tests, this one seems to shine best. But that's for my requirements. Everryone has diff requirements.

I am just an average user and I don't work in IT field. I am just describing my experience with downloading jetico to my windows pc and trying it. I am very familiar with windows + I have always built my pc from scratch myself. but I don't know very much about the workings of the different internet protocols/communications etc...
very unfriendly. interface non understandable. I used the default setting and I have only my isp address in the trusted zone, nothing in the blocked zone to start with. so one would think with such a basic setting, one should be able to surf ...guess what ?? apart from going to my own isp's site, it wouldn't even let me go to yahoo, I tried a few other urls, it would reject all incoming ... (I found out when I looked at the log)...I went trough all the configuration options, there are rejects in a lot of places, but it is SO UNCLEAR what they are for... and SO confusing ...., and to make matters worst it would also freeze my pc and I get the blue screeen of death. which I never had with other firewalls I have previously used both on windows and linux.
To be able to set all jetico's settings, one needs to have a "degree/diploma" in internet/communications. you have to have more than a basic understanding of udp, tcp/ip, icmp, dropped packets ... etc, that the average user doesn't have.
anyways for the average user that I am , my rating is 0. (unfortunately there is no way to vote with a zero star. so I am forced to vote with a 1 star)

If you are not a newbie and read jetico help file for an hour you will be rewarded by this little program.I have used zone alarm free,kerio,comodo but this is the best.Zone alarm uses too much resources.Jetico uses only 7792k.Kerio not stable as much as jetico.Comodo I havent tried the last version.But 1 month ago it was using twice as much resources as jetico.Jetico is safe it passes all the leak tests.You can stop it any time.Easy to configure.The next beta version is out and I think it will not be free after december.Be quick to download this program.

I can't say very much about this product since i've only had it installed one day. I can however tell you my experience with it so far. The first thing it did once I installed it was go through all the aplications I had running. A bit on the annoying side but still good. I recently had a trojan on this computer and so far my performance and processing speed was improved. I logged on the internet and the first settings i put it on didn't allow me to see any page (my bad). I reset it and it asked me to re-aprove each process it went through on the net. I allowed a couple more items so it allowed me to see the pages. So far it has blocked over 100 incoming and outgoing packets. Some of them I am sure are from the hacker. I would recommend reading most of the help files on it to get a great grasp of what this software can offer you. So far this is one of my best downloads. To top it all off It's FREE! I would have expected to pay upwards to 50-100 dollars for this software. I would recommend it for intermediate to expert computer users though.

The user interface is a little on the limited side. you have to figure out yourself which system processes are vital and which ones you don't really need. So far I haven't found a way to reset all of the processes that I have aproved. Even with these flaws It is a very good firewall. If you do download this product you have to play with the settings a little to get it to work good for you.

It is free and easy to install.
Cons
You have to select your program permissions everytime you boot. It could not remember that google talk was allowed network access. It crashed upon uninstalling.
