JAVEN is a Los Angeles based Recording Artist/Actor, JAVEN is the classic example of a musician who has the dynamic talents of a singer/songwriter, actor and producer. Building both his music and film career on a foundation of integrity and individualized style has earned him critical praise and audience approval.
When launching his career JAVEN quickly became no stranger to television. He landed a position as a co-host of the "Paula White Show" on BET from 2001-2002.
JAVEN has also been a frequent guest artist and appears regularly on numerous networks including BET, TBN, FOX, NBC, CTN, DAYSTAR and more.
JAVEN's impeccable stage presence led him to star in numerous productions. He was a lead in the theatrical production of A Raisin in the Sun and from 2002-2003 he starred in the Off-Broadway musical The Rock and the Rabbi.
In 2005, he starred in the movie The Sixth and in 2006 he starred with Omar Sharif and Peter O'Toole in the feature film, One Night with the King. JAVEN also has a supporting role in the film Abandoned starring Britney Murphy due out in 2010.
In 2002 JAVEN signed a record deal with Crowne/Word Records and his first single, "Never Give Up on Love" from the self-titled CD, soared into the top 10 on the CCM radio charts.
In 2003 he released his first independent CD, Change, through his production label JCM.
In 2004 he was nominated for the Marlin Awards best Male Contemporary Solo, Male Artist, Song and Gospel performance of the year, of which he won 2 of the 4 award nominations. He also won an Ensound Award for Best Urban Male Artist of the Year, along with a nomination for Best Male Artist of the year from the Southern California Guild Awards.
JAVEN's latest CD, Keeping the Faith, scheduled to release August 25, 2009 combines acoustic and electric guitar with JAVEN's powerful soul stirring vocals. This CD includes the hit "None Like You (Glory Hallelujah) currently climbing the video & radio charts.
