"Just saved my ass."
Version: IsoBuster 2.8
Pros
DVD-RW showed allocated space, but no folders or files. This found it instantly and extracted them painlessly.
Cons
none i can think of

"For price nothing betters it for dvd/Cd recovery!"
Version: IsoBuster 2.8
Pros
Have used it from inception without a problem! Does an exceptional job with lost files. The addition of HD capability in this release is an added bonus.
Cons
Nothing I can think of!

"The fastest file recovery software ever."
Version: IsoBuster 2.8
Pros
I used this software some time in the past and found it very useful. Back then it only supports cd/dvd. You just enter a corrupt cd and run the software - there you have your files-fast.
And now it supports HD which makes it the best. Two thumbs up.Cons
Found nothing

"Worked like a charm"
Version: IsoBuster 2.7
Pros
It did exactly what it said it would which was what I required.
Cons
Could be a tad more intuitive, i.e. maybe some pop-up instructions describing best course to follow depending on seriousness of recovery situation.
Could allow a partial recovery before requiring registration just so you it's going to work.Summary
Out of the half dozen programs I tried this was the only one that worked and I didn't have a really complicated scenario.
I'd formatted a dvd in Vista (not something I usually do) and copied some data (3GB) to it in preparation for wiping the disk for a clean reinstall. I closed the session, got the message to wait while dvd was made ready for use on other pcs and was done. After I got my dual boot XP/Vista running neither o/s would read the dvd which was pretty disappointing since this data was all my personal stuff. I was really kicking myself for not just backing up as usual, so was very appreciative of the IsoBuster program. Highly recommended. -

"Gets the job done."
Version: IsoBuster 2.7
Pros

Cons
Not exactly aesthetic!

"Great when used for legal purposes..."
Version: IsoBuster 2.7
Pros
Allows you to save images of your legally owned software and use in conjunction with a CDROM emulation tool to install your programs on a netbook.
Cons
Accuracy of images saved to the hard drive is questionable as I could not find away to enable a data verification mode to see its an accurate image / copy
Summary
I bought a netbook recently to travel around , but I did not want to shell out big bucks to purchase an external drive to install programs, so I downloaded this to a desktop, stuck in a few casual game discs and was able to make an .iso image of the disc for mounting in a virtual cdrom emulation program. It works as it says, but nags you all the time to buy its premium features. It says it has advanced features but I do not see any use for them. Good program overall, its just naggy thats all.

"Good program but Beware"
Version: IsoBuster 2.7
Pros
The program did what I needed it to do, but did alot of things in the background that I didn't.
Did need to get the Microsoft image file off of a CD to help construct a bootable system disk. It worked fine for that.Cons
Didn't want my home pages on both of my browsers redirected. Didn't want my default search engine redirected. These were unpleasant surprises when I went to use the browsers.
Summary
If you don't mind cleaning up all the changes this program makes while its being installed, its not a bad piece of software.
