"If you're short on time or budget - you should use Iron Speed"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 3.2.5
Pros
Iron Speed Designer is very useful when you need to extensively work with database in your application. It's generation capabilities allow you to easily create databse driven pages, without having the need to spend the time and money in building your infrastructure. The fact that you can also extend the generated code adds more value to it and prevent you from being locked into the product's framework.
If you're not a .NET expert then the added value of the product is even bigger since this will flatten your learning curve and allow you to use the latest technologies while still lerning them without compromising on quality and results.
Cons
When you're going for the complicated stuff you need to be creative and understand the way Iron Speed Designer works in terms of controls and methods, but once you've realized that, you're back on the sattle again. additionally, another limitation that can be resolved by yourself is the fact that the product only supports Oracle and Microsoft's database.

"The future of web application development!"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 3.2.5
Pros
This product is excellent. Once your MS Access, Oracle, or Sql Server database schema is in place, it will construct very professional looking web pages for displaying, adding or editing records. Seriously - I have on a number of occassions generated tens of thousands of lines of code with this product in a matter of seconds. Ironspeed generates true n-tier applications ready to use. Generated applications can readily be further customized through the asp.net based class objects. Graphical elements are professionally designed relieving the developer of tedious and time consuming graphics work. In my experience, Ironspeed improves time to market by at least a factor of six. Excellent forum particaption is a big help in learning to use Ironspeed and a great compliment to very competant tech support.
Cons
To fully master Ironspeed takes some time and effort. Once mastered though, it is an incredible piece of software. Like all software it has a few bugs and room for improvement. Fortunately, the people at Ironspeed are very concientious about fixing reported bugs and improving their product as quickly as possible. In the last year I have seen incredible and frequent improvements in the product and can't wait to see what it is capable of a year from now.

"I was not able to run anything generated by this stuff... sorry!"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 3.0
Cons
Ten directories, one hundred files generated and one error message... I can query my SQL 2000 database but this product seems not to work and produce a valid query tool... I've missed something ???

"Outstanding!"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 3.0
Pros
This is the only product that I have found that provides a soup to nuts solution for creating web applications so quickly and so well. A patch came out for Version 3.0 very quickly after the general release to address post-release issues. There are no other tools out there that come anywhere close to providing round-trip changes and ease-of-use experiences.
The architecture is simply amazing! The changes Iron Speed has made from in V3.0 are primarily for developers. The new class architecture is very solid and now a separate class is created for each record and table panel on a form. This makes control and event management much easier The Code Customization Wizards are better organized as well. This is a tool that generates 100% .NET code in either VB or C# and supports SQL Server, Oracle and Microsoft Access.
A neat new feature is the ability to collapse/expand tables at runtime; very handy for large master-detail constructs where screen real estate is at a premium.
Several nagging issues in V2.0 have been addressed in V3.0 making this the best release yet. This will be my tool of choice for new web applications.
Cons
Too early to tell what the cons are. Non-developers will not notice much of a difference.
Applications built in 2.x may require modification of custom code and some of the code customization wizards still require polish.

"Great, easy-to-use, ASP.NET application generator"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 3.0
Pros
I have been using Iron Speed Designer (ISD) for almost 2 years since version 1.x, and the latest version 3.0 is a great new step in the evolution of the product. The new Code Telescope feature is worthy of mention. After evaluating several products, Iron Speed Designer is the only product that met my requirements of 1) generate the entire application in my language (C# or VB.NET) and database of choice (Access, SQL Server, or Oracle), 2) multi-tier, web-based apps, 3) extensible, open source, 4) customizable user interface, 5) based on best practices, and 6) easy to use. Other products generate ASP.NET apps, but in my opinion, none are as easy to use as Iron Speed Designer. Also, ISD is becoming more and more template based, which continues to increase the extensibility.
Cons
Doesn't generate Win Forms or Mobile apps yet. Doesn't support remoting yet. Maybe a future version.

"Moving in the right direction"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 2.0
Pros
The new version is improving this product a lot and it starts looking great. The interface has improved considerably and indeed allows for quickly creating .NET Web applications.
I am currently using several other tools, especially VisualStudio.NET itself and CodeCharge Studio, but may practically try Iron Speed during future projects.
Cons
The page design is still limited.

"Sales force is corrupt"
Version: Iron Speed Designer 2.0
Pros
Stored procedure generation
Cons
The sales force are a bunch of cons. I was told by the lead of sales that I would get the next version when I purchased, and it was delayed, so now I don't get it.... how convenient to delay so less and less users get an upgrade!
Don't purhase or buy this software, they will rip you off too!
