"Perfect for me"
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
I just needed a small, fast image viewer, and IrfanView fits the bill perfectly.
Cons
I'd probably have some nit picks if I wanted to use it as a media player, but since I only use it as an image viewer, I've got no complaints.
Summary
Excellent image viewer. Handles large directories without any issues and only took a couple of minutes to configure to my liking.

"I always go back to IrfanView"
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
Crops, coverts .bmp to jpeg, rotates, and a bunch of other. Color corrects. Can do simple task for beginners or you can get more complex if you like.
Cons
None. There's nothing that I wanted to do so far that I could not do with IrfanView.
Summary
I've trialed some other packages but I always find myself going back to IrfanView to get things done quickly without a lot of hassle. I don't want to spensso much time that I feel like I'm doing professional editing. Although, if you wanted to there seems to be enough options that you could do that.

"Easiest photo editing program EVER, hands down"
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
I would PAY for this program...but I'm so glad I don't have to. It's easy to use, fairly intuitive, and every non-technical person I introduce to it has used it and edited pictures with great results within 5 minutes.
Cons
There should be a "Are you sure you want to exit?" prompt when you accidentally hit Esc. Other than that, I have NO complaints.
Summary
I've been using this for several years and cannot recommend it highly enough!

"Love it! User-friendly even for computer novices"
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
Program will help you resize/resample original photos, convert PNG or GIF photos to JPG for easier handling, and easily crop OR cut out unnecessary parts. I'm sure it can do more, but these are the features I use.
Cons
This is NOT a Photoshop program. Although it can sharpen a photo and deal with "red-eye" that's about the limit of it's editing ability. However, I would REALLY like the option of choosing different SHAPES for cropping, particularly oval.
Summary
For a free program - I highly recommend it to all my friends.

"A good basic program for novice users."
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
It it easy to maneuver around the program. This program offers basic editing tools. A good program for resizing images. This would be a great springboard for beginning editing.
Cons
Does not offer advanced editing tools. Offers very little recoloring or cloning.
Summary
A great program for a beginner. Offers basic editing tools. Great for resizing & cropping images.

"Did EXACTLY what I needed!"
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
I needed to convert .dcm files to .jpg. The files were from x-rays. Found IrfanView on CNet and it totally did the trick. Recommended.
Cons
I did have to install "plugins" from the IrfanView homepage. A minor annoyance. It also didn't automatically show up on the 'Updates'. Wish it gave the option to install the plugins during setup.
Summary
Worked great. Recommended.

"Many ways to move to next photo, few to vary zoom"
Version: IrfanView 4.35
Pros
Seems to be quick and versatile
Cons
Seems like every key, including some one might expect to zoom, moves to the next file in a directory. Maybe there is some way to map something mouse control to do something else, but the left click moves, the right click moves, the thumbwheel moves. In addition, the spacebar moves, and god knows what else. To have one of the mouse functions (thumbwheel?) operate the zoom would be nice.
Summary
Not great for quickly going through a folder unless the default size on each image happens to suit you or you think going over to the +- keys is quick. Nice that someone makes the effort to write this though, and I may figure out some quicker navigation if I use it a bit more.
