"The worst image editor of all time"

    October 10, 2014  |   By ScrewYouIrfanview

    Version: IrfanView 4.38

    Pros

    Small file
    Free
    Not a virus

    Cons

Everything else that a file could possibly be or do that wasn't listed under "pros"

    Summary

Do you like editing images? Do you want to paste/use your keyboard/crop/change colors while editing your image? If your answers were yes and no, then download away! If you have half a mind, then don't download this scum. Irfanview made me want to commit seppuku while having my tonsils removed by a rusty hook infected with ebola. You can't paste, double clicking screws everything up, you can't crop, the window's jenky, etc. But of course you can learn how to use it with tutorials, right? HAHAHAHHAHA no. There are maybe 3 tutorials online out of the 5 people who actually use this ****, and they're either in Hindi or obvious **** like "download it and use it to do the thing hurr durr". I feel so betrayed. Don't do this to yourself.

"best of 7 image viewers that I tried and easiest to use"

    September 23, 2014  |   By scottperk

    Version: IrfanView 4.38

    Pros

Best because of invisible integration with operating system. Makes you almost
think it is a Microsoft upgrade to windows ! ( integration with disk explorer) Most
dont realize ( as I didn't) that is also has a fantastic screen capture facility AND
image edit, resize, crop etc. AND best batch conversion I have seen for fixing or resizing or renaming etc hundreds ( or thousands) of image files. OH and one other HUGE thing. This program with 74 million downloads and if you have a suggestion or question ... you CAN TALK WITH THE DESIGNER PROGRAMMER himself ! ! ! I have made two suggestions in the past 3 years that he has implemented in later versions .......

    Cons

Whatever it is that makes CNET think it is less than perfect. I dont know what it is.
Why does CNET think over 74 million versions have been downloaded ? ? ?
It is super popular for a reason.

    Summary

If you are a photo nut and take ( and store) thousands of digital images that you later refer to, edit, or share, you will want to try IRFANVIEW first. I currently have sixty thousand images on my system from over 9 years of photography and I use Irfanview to organize and retrieve and view them I tried to get comfortable with ACDSee product but could not. I also use Photoshop occasionally for real hi end stuff

    Updated on Dec 3, 2014

I still love the product after about five years of use and upgrades. I cannot see why this product is not rated number one for image viewers with windows operating systems. I am a career software developer and really appreciate when others in
my job really do it right.

    "Excellent color corrections tool"

    September 12, 2014  |   By Haggstrom

    Version: IrfanView 4.38

    Pros

I use this program to change the saturation, gamma correction, contrast, brightness or levels of red, green and blue in images, because this program has an excellent color corrections tool where you get a real time preview of the result.

    Cons

The preview screen could be bigger by default.
