"Worthless Back-up Program"
Pros
Seems easy to use
Cons
Index file for the back-up files is stored on the drive that is being backed!?! When the drive fails you lose the Index file, rendering your Back-up extremely difficult to get at. Who thought of that design!
Iomega can't helpSummary
Do not rely on this Back-up. Find and use a different program, rated highly by others.
I lost, not one, but two of my extrenal harddrives that were backed-up onto another Harddrive using this program. When I lost the drives I lost the Index files for the Back-ups.
I am now spending a great deal of time trying to locate a tool or program that lets me get into and extract my files. I am told that after I locate this program, it will extract my files from these Iomega files. Once they are extracted I have to take an extra file extension off each file name. Essentially you have to re-name each file! I have Thousands of pictures in these back-ups! ugh!
Lesson Learned, get a RAID controller and set up a pair of drives for RAID and back that up as well with a better program.
