Version: Interspire Email Marketer 5.0.10
"upgrade policy improved - great newsletter software"
Pros: Very capable product. Excellent support. Active development with a steady flow of improvements. Support agreements now include upgrades. Very customizable, including branding and appearance.
Cons: It shouldn't have taken a year to fix their upgrade policy. Expensive now. Current support agreement required to obtain upgrades and updates.
Summary: I was one of the many customers very frustrated over their handling of the upgrade from SendStudio to Email Marketer, when they decided that upgrades to their software were not included even if you had a current support agreement. It took awhile, but they have again changed their upgrade policy - and this time for the better. Now if you have a current support agreement, all upgrades and updates are included.
It isn't the inexpensive product SendStudio was, though. When you purchase the product, it includes a 12 month support agreement. To renew that agreement costs 50% of the original price. Obviously they are trying to fund ongoing development, which is perfectly legitimate. Is it worth it? If you need a powerful and completely customizable email marketing solution, you won't find better - so yes, it is worth it. If you are looking for an inexpensive mass-emailer, probably not.
They are also making things right for those of us who were hurt by the original policy change. I can once again recommend this product and the company that makes it.
