"IE10 fails to meet my requirement for default browser"

    March 28, 2013  |   By MysticSojourner1

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

The "metro style interface" is undeniably a "pro"

    Cons

Except for the sleek "metro style interface", I encountered insufficient improvement over IE9 to make it my default browser. Most notable frustration - inability of IE10 to open the same sites that IE9 was unable to open (bookmarked on my Firefox and regularly used).

    Summary

I'm stickin' with my beloved Firefox

"It erases old versions and then locks up computer."

    March 28, 2013  |   By gammie0626

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

I can't think of anything good about this program.

    Cons

After installing the update, I attempted to open IE10. Only to have it give me the usual error message that another version of IE10 was already installed and could not open this version. When I checked the control panel the only version listed is IE10.

    Summary

When I attempted to open the browser I am given an error message that the file is corrupted. Yet nothing (tried uninstalling re-installing, tried everything on website I could find. So I went back to Firefox and have had no problems since.

    "Ugly duckling? Really?"

    March 28, 2013  |   By ladywhy

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

Some sites will only work with internet explorer.

    Cons

I've got windows 8 and internet explorer 10 on a new computer, and it's slower than ever. It also hangs because it's loading ads.

    Summary

    Still the worst browser around

"Many automatic IE 10 restarts and nonloadable sites"

    March 27, 2013  |   By lahines

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

I noted little difference between this version and previous versions.

    Cons

I installed IE10 on my W7 computerand became plagued with long loading delays, automatic restarts on errors, and inability to load some sites. These problems happened even after restoring IE 10 to original state. Non of these problems occurred when using Firefox or Chrome. I have stopped using IE 10.

    Summary

Too many problems to continue using IE 10 with W7.

"IE10 somehow faster than IE9, but causes serious errors"

    March 27, 2013  |   By Parpaluck

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

Internet Explorer 10 is somehow faster than Internet Explorer 9 under Windows 7.

    Cons

I have encountered errors from some websites ("Your browser is older and you should upgrade to a "newer" version"!!!)

Sometimes, when I leave a page, I get this irritating message: "Leave the page — Stay on this page?"

I can no longer hover the mouse over an image and display the ALT text. The ALT text represents an excellent convenience; it is also a WWW requirement.

I used to download videos with RealPlayer Plus. I hovered the mouse over a video in IE9, then I clicked "Download this video". That convenient feature no longer works in IE10.

    Summary

I already had Internet Explorer 10 with Windows 8. The Metro version is horrible — I no longer use it... absolutely NOT!

I think now I made a mistake by "upgrading" my Windows 7 from IE9 to IE10. The increase in speed is not terrific, especially when heavily graphic websites are loaded.

The negative of IE10 is heavier, however. I have encountered errors from some websites ("Your browser is older and you should upgrade to a "newer" version"!!!)

I used to download videos with RealPlayer Plus. I hovered the mouse over a video in IE9, then I clicked "Download this video". That convenient feature no longer works in IE10. Granted, it works NOT (easily) in Chrome. It works in Firefox, however (a browser I despise because it is terribly slow on my PC).

"Latest update is solid and great on Win7"

    March 27, 2013  |

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

    Fast
Does what I need it to do

    Cons

None that I have found so far other than a website or two not compatible but then again you find that with any browser

    Summary

The beta version of IE10 for Win7 was amiss and a number of crashes occurred, but the RTM release is GREAT. Clean, useful and definitely faster than IE9.

    A pleasure to use... thx

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

    nothing!!!

    Cons

I have W7 and cannot get IE 10 to connect to the internet. Now it's an automatic upgrade if you don't check your windows updates and then you have to uninstall. What's the point?

    Summary

    "Use Less program"

    March 27, 2013  |   By surfcitybob

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

    none that I can find

    Cons

    Crashes a lot

    Summary

I downloaded and installed IE10 the first day it was released for W7. The Netflix program brought it to its knees and crashed. While I haven't used IE for much other than certain web sites that will only work with IE, I now use it even less.
I haven't uninstalled it, but will wait until it gets upgraded to use it...someday. I use nightly the 64 bit Firefox browser as my default browser.

"Have HP CPU w/HP printer - Win 7 64 bit Ho Prem"

    March 27, 2013  |   By char6868

    Version: Internet Explorer 10 10.0

    Pros

Working fine except for one item (listed in Cons). Had been using a great tool when I had IE 9-it's HP Smart Print 2.1 (saves paper/ink when printing from a web page). Does not work w/IE 10!

    Cons

HP Smart Print will not work w/IE 10.

    Summary

HP support right now is only from one person trying to get this worked out over several days now. Don't think it will be successfully resolved! Can't find any helpful info through Microsoft either. (It does work w/Chrome - but I prefer using IE.) MICROSOFT, ARE YOU LISTENING?!!!!!!
