"Beware commercial "Tracking" of your personal computer!"

    March 28, 2012  |   By Chat Bleu

Version: Internet Download Manager 6.09 build 3

    Pros

    when it works O.K. .....

    Cons

....but after awhile it gets easily corrupted and slows right down.Change your computer or install a new OS - Internet DM will accuse you of piracy!
Do expect to be hassled as this software is for One (1) computer only.
They will nickel and dime you to death. I just got an email from IDM rep
since I come from a developed country (Canada) (his words NOT mine) I must respect the license. He said people from "China, India, and Indonesia" "use cracks"! Again these words of a Tonec Rep the makers of Internet Download Manager.

    Summary

Not worth the hassles and then the distrust and prejudice emanating from Tonec Reps.

    Updated on Mar 28, 2012

This just in from IDM rep.

"When people use cracks in Pakistan, India, China or Indonesia, we cannot control it, but since you are from a developed country, please respect our licensing terms."

I'm serious this is a exact quote from Internet Download Manager March 28th, 2012.
For the record I bought a new computer (the old one is in the rubbish) and IDM wants me to buy another license --- or else! Remember once
IDM is installed you are being watched.

    "Really nasty piece of software."

    March 6, 2012  |   By spine_tingler

Version: Internet Download Manager 6.09 build 3

    Pros

Tested on a Windows XP Professional system. Does ok with downloading files.

    Cons

Really, really hard to remove. Would not remove from Windows installation manager. Would not remove by the program group uninstall link. Could not close the application.

    Summary

This is a really nasty piece of software. This application is one of the reasons that I install software on a test machine before installing on my workstation. You can't get rid of it and you can't shut it off. ****WARNING**** Please test on test machine before use.

    "Not integrating well with IE9."

    March 6, 2012  |   By iwillneverstop

Version: Internet Download Manager 6.09 build 3

    Pros

    Fast download, good multimedia capture.

    Cons

    Not integrating well with IE9.

    Summary

I will give this software 5-star rating if it could integrate seamlessly with IE9. The integration with IE9 causes Tracking Protection List (TPL) to stop working. If you use an ad-block TPL to block ads, the integration will bring ads back to your IE9. If you disable the integration (or sometimes, you have to uninstall the integration by deleting the integration DLL file), TPL is working again.

"WORST PAID SOFTWARE! DON'T BUY THIS DEVIOUS SPYWARE"

    March 5, 2012  |   By shevontexas

Version: Internet Download Manager 6.09 build 3

    Pros

It feels the same and work the same way as the old days!

    Cons

    VIRUS / SPYWARE HIDDEN!

    Summary

If you choose not to pay IDM, it will slow you computer down and cause problems!
No way out except format hard drive and reinstall everything!
It will also copy data and send it back for unknown purposes (hopefully it is for marketing stats only)thus slowing the computer down without alerting anyone.
If you press for the task manager to check, it will stop using any cpu usage! IDM is not to trusted!

"Want 2nd payment after problem with reinstalling"

    February 24, 2012  |   By smokeydazza9

Version: Internet Download Manager 6.09 build 3

    Pros

until I had this problem with my PC had had no complaints

    Cons

    works very good or did

    Summary

After I had to reinstall my operating system, 4 times in a week, IDM was canceled by the company. They said they would only send a new key to an email address that was removed some years ago, the service provider no longer exists. It seems a good way of getting more money but not from me
