Publisher's description of Intellex
From Ativax:Intellex is an in-depth computer system analysis tool. It's purpose is to provide a quick and simple method for retrieving various computer system details, eliminating the need to exhaustingly search through numerous settings and properties to locate the details. The program contains 3 different sections so that specific details can be retrieved while unnecessary details are omitted. The sections are applications, hardware and operating system. The sections themselves are also broken down into sub-sections for convenience. When a sub-section is clicked, the display box is cleared and the chosen sub-section details is displayed. If the append option is checked (underneith the display box), all details that are retrieved stay in the display box. To retrieve all of the sub-section details of a section, there is an All sub-section that automatically cycles through and appends each of that section's sub-sections.

- Version reviewed: Intellex 1.5
Easily tested despite a short trial period, this application quickly scans and displays computer system details. Intellex is a transportable executable program that requires no installation. The crowded dialog interface is plain, but readable. Most users, especially novices, will appreciate that computer details are organized in three simple categories: Applications, Hardware, and Operating System. Each category is subdivided, simplifying the testing of particular system areas. Intellex retrieves system specifications within a few seconds
A slight problem surfaces with the program's Save function. Intellex offers saving in either HTML or text format, but both resulting files contain HTML formatting. The print output is in a simple but easy-to-read layout. The short five-use trial won't help administrators compare results for many machines, but home users will find the trial adequate to test the utility. All level users will find Intellex easy to operate, but some data results will be unintelligible to novice users.
