From Intel :VTune Analyzer's intimate knowledge of the processor enables it to provide extensive insights into how software utilizes CPU resources. It samples your application's activity using non-intrusive technologies, allowing you to drill down to the source code for performance bottlenecks. Call Graph displays the program's flow of control graphically, and the Tuning Assistant suggests optimization techniques.
The latest version of the VTune Analyzer incorporates a number of improvements that make performance-tuning easier and more efficient, including time-based sampling, event-based sampling, enhanced call graph, Intel-tuning assistant, and much more.
Note: Once you download the tool, you must register your product and obtain a seven-day evaluation license from the Intel Software Evaluation Center. Click the 'Free Evaluation' link and then click 'Continue to Download'. You will receive the license via e-mail. This is a very large (155MB) file and may take several hours to download via dial-up modem.
