Version: Instant Photo Scanner 1
Pros
Nice Product
Cons
To bad you can no longer buy
Summary
Try VueScan from Hamrick http://hamrick.com/ a little tricky sometimes but after a small learning curve I scanned the ,count em 230,000 photos my wife has managed to take in the last 30 years.
Thank God for digital slr's because if she had not gotten a few I would still be scanning. -
"Works great for 7 days but stops"
Version: Instant Photo Scanner 1
Pros
Allows single pass scanning to multiple files. Put more than 1 picture on the scanner, do a preview, highlight your pictures then scan to create individual files.
Cons
Only works for 7 days then stops with no way to purchase the product. I even called the company and they don't even acknowledge that the software exists.
Summary
Good product but only works for 7 days. I switch to software provided but Epson with my new Epson scanner. Does almost the same thing but scans multiple passes for each picture (1 preview for all the pictures and 1 scan for each picture). At least it is automated and lets you put multiple pictures on the scanner.

"Works great, still works - see below"
Version: Instant Photo Scanner 1
Pros
Scan multiple photos at once, fully automatic.
Cons
Since cannot be purchased, must bypass license system on each use.
Summary
I scan my photo albums without taking the photos out! I click "Preview", and the software automatically locates the photos. Note that sometimes you have adjust the rectangles showing where it thinks the photos are, but usually it does it correctly by itself. Then I click "Scan", and it scans them all at once, rotates them if necessary, and saves them to files, all automatically. By the way, II recommend scanning at 300dpi (default is 150dpi) for glossy photos, but just create a new profile and it will remember that.
It is true that this product can no longer be purchased, and will expire after 10 days. BUT just write down the date you installed the product. Each time before running the software, change the computer date to the date you installed it. Run the software, and afterward change the computer date back. Then you can use it forever.
Finally, C-DILLA which is installed along with this software is not spyware, it is just a license management system. -
"Great (dead) solution for scanning multiple items"
Version: Instant Photo Scanner 1
Pros
While most HP scanners come with this capability, almost all other brands are left wanting. Instant Photo Scanner fills the void for those of us who scan LOTS of photos and assorted items and need something to help cut down on the time required.
Cons
Sadly, this software is no longer available for sale. Truly a crime as I've not found another utility to replace its functionality!
Summary
Well written, very well functioning, but ultimately abandoned software from DataBecker. Great if you can find the crack!
Pros: Great little piece of software that allows scanning of multiple objects into individual files in one pass. I've scanned tens of thousands of trading cards with this software, and after working with the features a bit to get it adjusted, absolutely love it.
Updated on Jul 6, 2010
Cons: For some reason, Data Becker seems to have sold the rights to a company in the UK that, for whatever reason, can't sell it outside the UK, and Data Becker no longer offers it. I have a great piece of shareware with a 10 day (TEN) trial period, but no one to take my money! I really want to pay for this software, but can't find any way to get a legitimate license! -
"Didn't install correctly and can't un-install."

Didn't install correctly, and I can't un-install, either.
Cons
Didn't install correctly, and I can't un-install, either.
Summary
Didn't install correctly, and I can't un-install, either.

"Contains C_Dilla spyware!"
Version: Instant Photo Scanner 1
Cons
While cleaning up my drive I stumbled on a hidden directory in my root (C:) called C_DILLA, and I traced it back to the installation of Instant Photo Scanner. The company says that it's not spyware, but it sure smells like spyware. Regardless, any time a product installs anything else without telling me, I will wipe it off my system and give it a failing review. (I had to give it one star only because it wouldn't accept zero stars.)
