Instant Buttons & Controls specifications
What's new in version 3.7
The first series consists of three sets of colored buttons: the Fire, Smoke and Water series. Within each set are nine distinct types of button, each with a unique set of visual characteristics and behaviors: 360-degree Arrows, Quicksilver, Arrows, Dial, Droplet, Pill, Toggle, Video Controllers, and Magnifier.
Director developers will immediately seize the design implications of the transparency of these dynamic buttons. Each was carefully designed and crafted using alpha channel techniques, introducing a semi-transparent, luminous appearance. These buttons leverage design context, allowing detailed and richly designed backgrounds to shine through to introduce strikingly new end-user experiences. They accelerate development of cutting edge interactive media and catapult users to Ã?peripheral visionaryÃ? status.
The developers at STATmedia employ some of the most technically advanced, yet powerfully creative capabilities of Director's Lingo code in the production of Transparencies. This allows for some really wild animated button features when rolled over or clicked on, and eliminates the risk of stumbling into a development time sinkhole.
More additions to the line are in development, meanwhile examination of the Quicksilver, Droplet and 360 Degree behaviors at the STATmedia website will certainly tantalize any Director user with the possibilities of composing personally adjusted color combinations.
MULTI-LAYERED ARCHITECTURE
Transparencies extends the franchise of earlier IB&C sets with a multi-layered architecture; all Lingo, behaviors, sound and images are easily interchangeable. This means that any layer of one colored button (i.e., the top layer of a Fire button) may be used to create a hybrid button (i.e., the base layer of a Smoke button), giving it a Water graphic when rolled over. This flexibility encourages authoring original combinations based on experimentation.
