"Needs to be more intuitive"
Version: Inkscape 0.48.2
Pros
None so far.
Cons
The tools need to be more intuitive and easier to operate.
Steep learning curve with the simplest tasks being difficult to manage.Summary
Interesting program but the complexity leaves a lot to be desired. This will test your patience as you try to attempt simple tasks and find them to be layered with unnecessary complexity.

"Pure Awesomeness"
Version: Inkscape 0.48.2
Pros
Best freeware 2D drawing program out there. It has a lot of the features of software like Corel Draw, except it's completely free. Since it's open source and published under the GNU Public License, it's available for most operating systems, not just Windows.
Cons
Not a lot, the interface and tools might intimidate new people.
Summary
This is just an amazing app. I've used commercial vector graphics drawing software before and this has a lot of the functions of that software and then some for free. It's not for the timid, though. This is a serious drawing app for serious artists. If you're familiar with software like Micrografx Designer and Corel Draw, which incorporates a lot of the tools from Mircorgrafx Designer, because Corel bought Micrografx in 2001, this software should seem very familiar to you from the start. Give this a shot if you're tired of paying big bucks for that kind of software, or if you're new to 2D computer art and just want something powerful to use for illustration work.

"Great Program, very powerful"
Version: Inkscape 0.48.2
Pros
Amazing FREE program, quick easy installation, many online tutorials to look through.
Cons
Not super easy to use for the complete beginner. However, if one has any background in adobe's illustrator it will not be too bad.
Summary
Great Program, just another proof that the world is going in the direction of opensource.

Possible learning curve (See summary below)
Summary
I previously had XARA graphic software and absolutely loved it but the version I had was not compatible after my windows 7 upgrade. Before I dished out another $80-$100 for the new program, I searched the net a little and found INKSCAPE here on CNET. It is almost a mirror image of XARA...WOW!!!! Yes there is a bit of a learning curve if this type of program is new to you but if not it is a cinch to operate. If this type software is not new to you and If you have patience (and you should anyway working with graphics..right?!) it is well worth the features of INKSCAPE. I was up and designing in 15 minutes. Love it : )
Line 4 correction: "If this type of software IS new to you" (sorry)
