Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.29
"Unbeatable PDF Editor!"
Pros: Fast; bug free; very simple, clear interface; the best text editing functionality of any!
Cons: No negatives with its current functionality but I would like to have some additional functionality such as working with forms, viewing and editing layers via a layers panel (for GIS maps), and perhaps the ability to convert other file formats to PDF.
Summary: I evaluated over a dozen PDF editors and have been a user of Acrobat Professional 7 at work but none of them, including the $450 Acrobat Professional have the ease of use and PDF editing functionality that Iceni's Infix has! The biggest thing that puts Infix head and shoulders above the others is their fantastic text editing functionality. Most editors have a very tough time handling text edits in PDFs (including Acrobat) and many do not offer text editing at all but Infix works just like a real text editor. Smooth, functional, fast and bug free.
Graphic object editing is just as easy and fast as well. Just select and delete or move existing objects or use the multiple graphic tools to draw or add pictures.
It also has a full range of other functions including full markup and comment capability, PDF conversion to text or image file formats, hyperlinking, page manipulations (crop, reorder, delete, resize, rotate, etc.), setting security settings and more.
Many PDF programs are slow to open and refresh, especially in edit mode, but I found Infix to be one of the fastest performing of all, which is particularly pleasing when one recognizes it also is one of the most capable editors as well. The same goes with resource use. I evaluated every program I tested for memory usage and Infix was one of the best in that area too.
Their support crew has been very responsive too. After I requested support for layers functionality they replied and indicated that they would likely provide this in a future release. I'll look forward to that addition.
Try Infix and compare it to others! You will not be disappointed.
