"In a class of it's own."

    February 12, 2010  |   By JimiLe

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

Actually works like a word processor with basic page layout features such text boxes, columns and tabs. Found nothing that even comes close to what it can do. It's what I've been needing for years.

    Cons

    Nothing so far.

    Summary

    Infix PDF Editor 4.11 rocks!!!

I just tried Infix PDF Editor and I'm very impressed. I routinely work with PDFs and like to create them from web pages. They are a great way to archive interesting stories, product information and, more importantly, highly detailed instructions for off-line reading, printing and storage. But quite often there's a BIG problem.

Pages which contain graphics -- and most of the ones I make PDFs of do, otherwise I could just make a text file using Copy and Paste -- at least half of the time turn out very badly formatted: a little bit of text on one page, a graphic and a bit of text on the next, and so on. That's understandable since web pages are formatted for continuous scrolling, not distinct pages.

That's where PDF editors come to the rescue... or don't. Over the last couple of years I've tried a lot of them. And I mean a lot. PDF editors as a whole leave a great deal to be desired. The best one I had found until now let me editor an entire line of text on the page, but that's about it. When I read that Infix PDF Editor worked like very much like a word processor I was skeptical. But it works like a charm and even has some basic page layout features!!! (The Pro version is especially feature rich.)

My test case was a web posting detailing setting up the router on my home network so everyone can happily share the internet connection. And I really needed to print it out so it was easy to read and follow all the instructions. The initial PDF had the text and graphics spread all across many pages which made it a pain to read and hard to follow.

Infix made it easy to fix all that. An telling example was the first page which had 3 paragraphs of text followed by a narrow graph almost the height of the page. I just selected the "text box" containing the paragraphs, made it into a narrow column, and added line breaks so the text flowed neatly and cleanly. Then I copied the graphic from the next page and pasted into the area to the right of the text.

Voila! The instructions that accompanied the graphic are now on the same page making them easy to follow! And the result looks good too. And critically important, I was able to insert working web links back into the PDF. Like I said, I'm very impressed.

So, if you're considering any other editor, "Forget about it!" Try Infix PDF Editor, you'll be glad you did.

    "A lifesaver in my case"

    January 27, 2010  |   By northwest_cnet_fan

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

After experimenting with numerous editors, I finally found Infix! I needed to make some key font changes and remove some problematic images while getting three inherited PDF files print-ready. Unlike all the rest, Infix made these tasks effortless!!

    Cons

I have yet to encountered anything I don't like. Just try to go out and find a low-cost PDF editor that (1) has a "whiteout" type function and (2) has the ability to do text editing and leave you feeling like you are working in a word processor.

    Summary

I don't have enough training or experience in graphic design or desktop publishing software to run many of outstanding but complicated applications that are available. The whole area is outside of my expertise. But I do have reason to edit and polish PDF files and I simply have not been able to find any other product that allows me to do that kind of editing in what feels like a familiar environment. I need a very user-friendly interface, and functions that are common sense-type functions for someone already familiar with word processing. Infix fits the bill exactly in both regards.

"Infix is very comfortable PDF editing tool"

    January 27, 2010  |   By klgk

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

With Infix you can edit text, graphics and pictures inside PDF documents. For me, the most important feature is deleting coloured backgrounds in PDF-Documents (mostly converted PowerPoint presentations) to make the document much more printerfriendly.

    Cons

If you edit large documents, saving changes takes some time but on the whole Infix is fast enough to work efficiently.

    Summary

You can use Infix to edit your PDF Documents. You can edit text or graphics inside PDF files. This is very useful in case you have lost the original document but have to change text, for example a caption. You can also insert or extract pages. I often use this feature to create one PDF file which consists of many documents created with different applications (Text documents from Word, titlepages created with The Gimp etc.).

But for me, the most important feature is deleting coloured backgrounds in PDF-Documents (mostly converted PowerPoint presentations) to make the document much more
In conclusion, this tool might be very helpful for students who want to make lecture material more printerfriendly as well as for professionals who work a lot with PDF documents.

    "Great for school!"

    January 25, 2010  |   By mhinz07

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

    Love the word processor format.

    Cons

    Watermark on non-licensed version

    Summary

This is a fantastic way for me to save paper, and money! I'm a full-time college student, and my professors post lecture notes to the web in PDF format. However, my notes get incredibly illegible on them, so I have to print out another copy. Instead of wasting paper, I can simply write notes and highlight using Infix, saving me paper, time, and money! It also allows me to edit the notes in order for me to make study guides for exams. Overall, I love this product.

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

Unlike most of the PDF editors that I have used before, including purchased ones and free ones, Infix allows you to edit all parts of a document. It is easy to use and straightforward. I recommend Infix to anyone who wants professional results.

    Cons

So far I have found nothing that I dislike.

"Some of the few pdf-editors, which do what you want!"

    December 4, 2009  |   By tomeslav

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

I donĀ“t know older versions, but the new version Infix PDF Editor 4.05 has a really user-friendly design!
    Good price performance ratio!

    Cons

    None so fare.

    Summary

It is the only editor i know, which diagnoses all of the layout-style and so it allows all changes in this style. Cut and paste of text in the right script is one of the very well features.

    "Excellent product"

    November 14, 2009  |   By jacp400

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

Infix is stable and very easy to use. There are online tutorials that show you how to get started. The product includes all the features you would require including insert, extract, delete as well as intuitive editting tools for documents.

    Cons

None that I've found so far.

    Summary

This is the 7th or 8th pdf editor that I've tried and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. One didnt even allow me to open the first pdf file that I tried! The product is similar to Publisher which makes it very easy to use. The menus are well defined and clear, with a familiar feel. Overall the best pdf editor that I've used.

"The Easiest Way to Edit Pages in a PDF Document"

    November 11, 2009  |   By jt_2k

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

What really sets Infix apart from other "PDF editors" is its ability to change the content and layout of the individual pages of a PDF document. Even better, it makes doing all this easy.

    Cons

The program uses a PDF file, with bookmarks, for its help file. This leaves no easy way to create a set links to the pages that are important to an individual user. A standard HTML Help file, with the "favorites" tab enabled, would be more useful.

    Summary

Lots of applications claim to be "PDF editors." What they can do, however, is usually limited to deleting pages, changing the order of the pages in the document, or inserting pages from other PDF files. Although Infix can do these tasks, it can also actually change the look and content of the pages. Both text and graphic elements can be inserted or deleted, and their placement on the page rearranged. The content of text can be changed, along with its font and size. Search and replace allows for replacement of text throughout a document. The list could go on and on. In short, Infix is essentially a page layout or desktop publishing tool for existing PDF documents. It can do most of the important types of changes to a PDF page which you'd expect to be able to while editing an HTML page with Front Page, or editing a DOC page with Word. The trial version allows you to sample all the functionality indefinitely, but applies a discreet watermark to each page of the document. Everything is still very readable.

"Infix is so much easier to use than Adobe"

    November 5, 2009  |   By mkgk1tech

    Version: Infix PDF Editor 3.36

    Pros

This is the only product I have found easy and usefull when it comes to editing PDF files. I can actually make corrections!!! This saves me a lot of time and a lot of aggrivation. This is easy to use!

    Cons

I haven't quite figured out how to incorporate a drawing into a document.

    Summary

I would recommend this to anybody! Abode is definitely not as user friendly as this product. I am not very computer savy and I found this product easy to use.
